ASEAN is a geo-political and economic organization of 10 countries located in Southeast Asia, which was formed on 8 August 1967 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Since then, membership has expanded to include Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. Its aims include the acceleration of economic growth, social progress, cultural development among its members, the protection of the peace and stability of the region, and to provide opportunities for member countries to discuss differences peacefully. The organization holds meetings, known as the ASEAN Summit, where heads of government of each member meet to discuss and resolve regional issues, as well as to conduct other meetings with other countries outside of the bloc with the intention of promoting external relations.![]() Headquarters (seat): Jakarta, Indonesia Edited by Indonesia, May 4 2010, 12:08 AM.

You do realize that when you do an event like this it has to be somewhat actually able to happen. Pakistan joining this would never happen...EVER...if you really want to get into diplomatic relations with Pakistan or anyone else, start up a diplo thread with all that you want in your new organization. Get everyone to agree on it, or decide what they want to do, then go from there. This prospect of bringing Pakistan into ASEAN is like France put it, crazy, not only would you ahve to change the name, but also the charter document of the organization...which pretty much means whole new organization, all the members would ahve to ratify and it would probably fall apart, bad move. |
