Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the Earth.

I agree on the mind over matter thing.

For the electromagnetic thing, maybe some sort of electromagnetic organelle could be added to the cytoplasm of nerve cells.

Well the season finale with guest star Leonard Nimoy is coming up.

Are the people on this thread still watching. I sure am. Walter's lines crack me up, I like recurring cast member Ari Graynor and Joshua Jackson is doing more on this show. (Wasn't it awesome how he invented a crude record player on a glass window to find the kidnapper of the pyrokinetic woman?)

Yes that invention was simply brilliant. I also like the clues and secrets surrounding the show, we think we know what's going on but we don't. The whole prepareing children with these abilities in preparation for a war reminds me of the Indigo/crystal children phenomenon. Basically indigo children were being born in the 50s and on, but there was a boom in around the late 80s early 90s, making these individuals teens/young adults. Basically these individuals (myself included) have psychic abilities and are meant to change the world and rid it of corrupt individuals and systems, to make way for the crystal children a race of highly intelligent psychic children who are quite delicate and sometimes considered autistic or afflicted with Aspergers, even though they are just late bloomers.
Now what if this is a mythology created around a real life event, what if children were given experimental drugs that gave them strange abilities in preparation for something bigger or to just make the world a better place. It would be interesting.
Oh and Fringe ROCKS !!!!

I still love that show.

I guess you could call me a Fringie (like a Trekkie, just for Fringe).

Walter's probably the best character on that show, with Peter coming in at a close second. Witout Peter, Walter probably wouldn't be so great (still would be awesome, just a little less than he is now).

Who's Leonard Nimoy?

Best thing about this show: the events of the Pattern they depict are actually plausible. Every Wednesday, I always seem to find my self talkiong about how plausible these events actually are.

And I love how they tied in some biology with the show. Remember the episode with the genetically engineered creature? F***ing awesome!!

I don't know many people in the celebrity world.

Just looked him up on wikipedia. He's the guy who played Spock, right?

This is getting too surreal now...

So, instead of the Twin Towers going down, it was the White House?

J.J. Abrams, always with a new twist.

And Peter is actually from an alternate universe where he actually survived his illness.
I wish I could give the public a true picture of the queen as she appeared at her best, but this would be impossible, even had she permitted a photograph to be taken, for her charming play of expression while in conversation, the character and intellect which were then revealed, were only half seen when the face was in repose. -Lilias Underwood when speaking of Empress Myeongseong

"I was born in the dark. I went out into the light, and your Majesty, it is my displeasure to inform you that I have returned to the dark. I envision a Seoul of towering buildings filled with Western establishments that will place herself back above the Japanese barbarians. Great things lie ahead for the Kingdom, great things. We must take action, your Majesty, without hesitation, to further modernize this still ancient kingdom."-Min Young-ik to Empress Myeongseong

It was never said that the terrorists attacked the White House rather than the Twin Towers

No, but it was heavily implied. That inference is pretty hard to NOT come too.

Obama was moving into a NEW White House and Massive Dynamics, along with Mr. Bell's office, was in the Twin Towers. What other inference can you come too?

I'm not the kid who reads too much into things. I know he was moving into a new White House. It's just that there's nothing to concretely suggest that it was destroyed in the alternate 9/11 attacks.

I am now resurrecting this topic to do sheer awesomeness of the season premier.

It was the awesome.

Okay, where do I start? The cell-phone in the seventies? That was awesome. Or the scene where Walter shows the military the Window and you see a blimp landing? Oh, alternate Back to the Future? How awesome was that?

But of course, you have the Walternate. I want to see the modern Walternate, imagine Walter if his son had been kidnapped. That will be awesome.

Plus we finally met his wife.

And the best line ever: "There is only room in this lab for one god, and it's not yours."

But, one thing I just thought about. Alt Peter didn't remember the coin, but he still had it. What gives? Retcon?
