Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

So, I think that I'm nearly ready to create a topic for my own xenobiology project in the Habitable Zone forum. The only thing is, I've never introduced a project before, and I'm looking for some tips on how to do it. Some questions that come to mind are:

Should I include pictures in the first post?

Should I wait for comments/replies on each post before posting another update?

What should the introduction contain?

Any other FAQ you think I should know about would be great too, and thanks for helping out.
Ever wondered what a hexapodal fire-breathing rauisuchian on steroids would look like? What about a floating colony of bioluminescent siphonophore analogues? Maybe even plants with muscular systems that shoot you with darts? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then why not take a look at my xenobiology project; Nemo?

There's little in the way of rules. Post pictures and double post if it pleases. If you're really having trouble writing an intro, read a few others and you'll get an idea of what you may want to include.

If I may be frank, you've been relying on us quite a bit before you've even posted your thread. That's not a problem per se, but this is your idea and your project. Don't be afraid in posting it! It seems decently solid from what I've seen. Don't worry, if you've made a mistake, or someone takes issue with the biology, we're a pretty vocal bunch and it's no trouble to us :)

Speculative Evolution Projects-

Other Relevant Work-

Final SE Lifelist standings

BREAKING NEWS
We interrupt your regular programming to bring you this cutting edge report.
ATTENDANCE DROPS DRASTICALLY ON SE SERVER
This past Monday on Discord, famous server Speculative Evolution took a hit in the attendance office when it's offline member list suddenly reappeared. Mods scrambled to rectify the situation, but unfortunately there was little anyone could do. Server member Ivan was asked what he thought of the situation. "So long as Flisch, lord of machines and scion of Urborg lives, all will be well". SE, (in)famous for it's eccentric userbase, has recently been spiraling downward, and now we have hard conformation of the decline. Moderator "High Lord" Icthyander states "There is nothing to be concerned about, Discord is merely changing its UI again", but members are beginning to suspect the honesty of their staff.
Stay tuned, we'll be back with more at 11.

Look how others have gone about it, especially the more popular projects. No need to carboncopy, just to get some inspiration.
