Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Seems natural for a flying organism. Natural selection in birds works only due to differentiation, and when you're as clever as a raven that's not going to happen.

Uhhh, the article leaves a bit to be desired. First of all, isn't this exactly what happened with humans too? The different populations on the continents were isolated until transportation allowed for large-scale mixing again?

Also, I don't want to be that kinda guy, but isn't the whole thing rather self-explanatory? Populations mix when brought back together again?

The article keeps mentioning the branches of a tree, but populations within a species are hardly branches. If they were our tree would be a messy ball of wool. This isn't branches reconverging, this is simply branches staying as they are without speciating (yet).

Uhhhhh.
We have a discord. If you want to join, simply message me, Icthyander or Sphenodon.
