| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Apparently that elongated asteroid, Oumuamua, is covered in an organic coat of shorts. I very much doubt it's an artificial construct of extraterrestrial life but god I really hope it's something. Even if it was a piece of stellar art carved by lasers so that it would be the shape it is that would satisfy me. Especially because if it was precisely carved by lasers then it would be difficult to explain how that could natural occur. |

As funny as that sounds, if in the extremely unlikely event this is a spaceship it would be interesting if it was a generation or stasis ship used to travel vast distances. Or maybe a transport ship used to unload weapons onto a planet (say a virus or a macroscopic GE biowarfare organism) that got lost |

On a side note, if that hit Earth, tobacco really would be number one killer. |
