| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Since humans went extinct as simians, many habitat were left open for the desperate "orphaned" animals(without habitat). Now we tale a look at the timeline and the inhabitants ,shall we? 10 milion years------No many changes. The continental are still the same.10 milion years are many years for out mammalian brainstorming, but for for nature is like very short time.Time passed and many creatures and Plants found themselves in new situations. The diversity have grown since the age of man. The Africa. Now the continent was in a collision course with Europe, ultimately giving rise to the new mountains. Now animals could migrate freely between Europe and Africa, giving rise to new ecosystems. This eventualele is similar to the Eocene Grand Coupure which means a change in fauna.Any african creatures replaced the european ones and vice versa. Many avian and mammalian faunas found new oportunities for big changes. |

Animals of African and European places(Euro-Africa).18 milion years:The lemurian like descendants of baboons, the Hardy primates of Holocene, migrated to europe because of the newly formed grasslands and rainforests of tropical Europe. They range from the cat sized Siluriopithecus which livestock in the forest and have a nocturnal lifestyles to the human sized herbivorous Colossopapio which looks like the extinct Megaladapis of Malagasy. They are very Smart like the present day Gorillas. However they didn't have such easy lives. They are pursued by numerous carnivores derived from domestic cats, dogs and even ferrets.Because of the ambsencene of anthropocenic conditions ,gigantism and the richness of resources returned to it's formed glory. The predators are:Brontocanis. These carnivora a are derived from dogs. They are the biggest canids ever ,having the size of beats, and to rise the sucess on each hunt, they live in packs of 5. Brontocanis have unique strategies to deal with different herbivore and enemies alike.Once they find a newly killed creature, they simply began to rise on hind legs to scare the predators away. Dinocatus is another big predator but derived from the smaller domestic cat .For the average person, the normal cats are cute, but he will change his mind when he will see the descendants of the house cat. Dinocatus live in pairs and have big sabre like teeth similar to the long extinct sabre toothed cats. They have lion like fur because they can hide Well in grass when an unsuspecting prey walk close by.They hunt the descendants of the cattle farmed before by man which became imense like the Aurochs of the Ice Age.Like then, they are widespread through much of Africa and Europe. |

The Africa broke apart ,giving rise to a big Europe sized Island, carying with it the african fauna. The Rift lakes were swallowed by the Indian ocean itself making the cichlid fish of Lake Malawi to flee to the sea in search for new habitats. They were lucky because in the distant past,by the late Paleocene, the acestors of these fish were marine în nature being in the same family as the reef wrasses. They reached the asian reefs and even Australian waters. Notable species:Paratroplus. Paratroplus evolved primarly from mbuna cichlids of Malawi lake .They look like a Cross between surgeonfish and grouper.Being big sized predators, they eat baby birds, snails, corals,Starfish and smaller fish.Despite of these qualities, big sharks, birds and mammals predate them. Tropheinodontidae are Etroplus (indian cichlid )like fish derived from Mozambique tilapia introduced in the Malawi lake before the contact of sea and lake.Tropheinodobtidae live in seagrass areas of Madagascar and Australia. They are huge fish which lost the abilty to care for the Young.By doing This ,the tiny fry arrived accidentaly in aussie waters by the help of currents. 23 milion years:the global oceans.Because of the changing currents ,the plankton and algae suffered big die off ,resulting in the death of the giant cetaceans and some dolphinids. For Pinipeds that was an occasion for spending much more time in water and become whale like. Some seals and sea lions evolved in array of forms, suiting many niches. The most notable forms were the plesiosaurs, the plesiosaurs like seals derived from the arctic individuals which migrated to find much more food and territories. They even catch flying birds by rising the necks above water.Sometimes they returns to the beaches to bask and to play. Some babies are vulnerabile to big predators such as Charchasaurs, the tarpon like big cichlids,Basilochelys, the killer whale like turtles evolved from pond turtles(they are very social) and Megaxyrhina the big Megalodon sized sharks evolved from Porbeagle sharks. 23 milion years: Asia. The asian continent was invaded by newly species.10.000 ago there was a smaller mass extinction in mammals which gave rise to the big chelonians. They were big monitor lizard like .Because they evolved from escaped pet turtles, they have a big range in the map. They have big claws for swimming, digging and climbing gard to climbing trees, somehow catching prey in gard to get areas. They are social animals with the intelligence of monitor lizard. They help each other If the prey hides or tuns away. They arent made for long chases get so one should do the job while the other sits or sleeps. Notable species:Xenotherus Salvatoris or Pachychelon. They have hard shells that deal with angry predators .When the predators santa to bite them ,they cant because they have horns on the head and spikes. If they hit the enemy ,the weapoms can cause infection and big scars. They scavange mostly but when tthey want a fresh meal, they search and then wait. Its the only species that use lures to catch prey. The tongue looks like a worm or snake, and smells like the real ones. They mostly targed the evolved big introduced marsupials and rodent's offspring which are prone to being killed because of the curiosity they have. Avian most notable species:the birds are one of the most successfull groups of vertebrates ever(dinosaurs). They outcompeted some of the big weasel species ,regaining the lost supremacy of the dinosaurs.Elasmotavis are one of them:long necked and omnivorous they scare any small beings they come in contact with.Being elephant sized they inhabit the whole India. They live alongside Greyphants ,the descendants of the resurrected mamooths of the holocene. They lack hair. The mamooths migrated to India when the Ice retreated. Another birds that live almost anywhere is the Tyrannohen.Tyrants are chickenosaurs with traits of theropods, mostly created in the age of man because of the obsession with prehistoric life. They are Smart and dangerous because some have big sizes. They can take down a Greyphants easily If the animal is Alone. They are like the barracudas of birds and they are very easily annoyed by any small carnivore. But the chicks and the females are a priority to them. These creatures willshape the world after a long time when a mass extinction will be triggered by a climate change.Until then we shall take a look at north/south America and Australia.

You don't need to spread your info over that many posts. A single post can hold quite a huge amount of text, so all you've said so far could have been contained just in the introductory first post. Later posts would of course be necessary for when you come up with more ideas for your project, but it is generally better to put a lot of info into one post rather than making a long string of posts right after each other. |
