| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! After humans went extinct, many versatile animals went to conquer the abandoned cities and other areas.Because of the damage made by the bipedal Mammals, many creatures went extinct because of habitat loss and pollution.Sadly the iconic modern animals like the Titanic Blue whale, the strong and pack hunting lions, the big and placid gorillas and the polar bear didn't survived the mass extinction. But for the nature itself, some extinct modern beings were just a "tiny" loss in biodiversity.Birds somehow remained untouched in terms of number of species. Now i will show you some descendents of TODAY pets and domestic livestock:The unexpected descendents are of a pet chelonian from the pond turtle family Emydinae, respectively the Eared Slider turtle. Some grow to elephant sized species, began to look like the long extinct ground sloths of the past, some took to the water and growing enormous because they have no competition with baleen whales .This new diverse group of turtles also have mesonychid/carnivoran analogues .Other reptiles also diverced. But the most important faunal component are the birds. They are the most diverse group of the future Times. They are of all sizes sizes and shapes .The Tyrannodonts are the most widespread type of carnivorous birds because they migrated when Africa collided with Europe. They evolved from the african eagles species from the age of man. They Grew long claws on each foot to tear apart enemies and herbivores alike. They live in families and have a form of culture similar to that of simians. They hunt the sloth like turtles Gigantochelys by injuring it's arms and legs avoiding the Sharp and lethal claws. In the seas, oceans and lakes, fish and invertebrate faunas remained mostly the same with a few changes. In the coast of Madagascar ,a new reef formed. The fish colonised the reef but some species a were a bit familiar. They are in fact cichlids from freshwaters of lake Malawi,Mozambique and the lakes of Malagasy that populated the newly formed reefs. The tropical dream place is visited by sea turtles and Thalassochelonoids(descendants of red Eared sliders) .The mammals population dropped a bit but they surely evolved as well.In tropical future Europe ,10 milion years in the future, future descendants of baboons adopted new lifestyles from living in trees to being nocturnal with big loris like eyes. These primates look like overgrown lemurs with big teeth and bottoms. The pet domestic cat evolved to resemble big cats and sabre toothed in both apparance and behavior. Some even evolved to look like Early primitive small cats.Released pet feral marsupials and rodents are the most diverse future mammals. They occupy different niches and habitats. They range from hamster sized species to carnivorous cat and canine like rats and sugar gliders.Back to the birds, many Groups evolved to a myriad of forms, one medium sized group was outlooked, and was somehow the biggest creation of mankind:the chickenosaurus. These Little guys were created in holocene by the labs in the year 2025 ,because of the humans obsession with prehistoric animals and plants. They were the most sought after little pet because IT was easy to grow and feed and because chickenosaurs were dinosaurs after all. They were in all colours and many persons loved them.It wasn't long until someone deliberately realeased them everywhere from Madagascar/Mainland Africa to Europe and Australia. In some places they Grew to big sizes and wiped almost everywhere smaller to be eaten. The genetically engineered monsters bred quickly like chickens. In the distant future ,these guys will shape the world once again, starting a new epoch named Mesocene. No drawings yet.Im new to This site so correct me if i do Something wrong. |

Ok, not bad for a first post. Just a few things: 1. Split this into multiple paragraphs. Even the best writing can be severely impaired by a massive wall of text. Try separating it along the line of themes in future. You can edit this at any time. 2. 10 million years sounds far too quick for most of this to happen, especially elephant sized tortoises and filter feeding turtles. 50+ would be more plausible unless you tone the changes down 3. Why would people release the chickenosaurs if they are such a threat? And how did they outcompete mammals so thoroughly if they are chicken sized omnivores. They hardly seem sufficient to trigger a mass extinction. 4. How are birds literally unscathed by something that clearly crippled mammal diversity and affected the ecosystem profoundly? Some of the ideas are very interesting, don't get me wrong. It's just they don't strike me as the most plausible at this point. Oh and welcome to the forum.

Well You are right but chickenosaurs radiation happened in 20 milion years in the future.I forgot about telling about time.If i'm not mistaken birds are more Hardy and more succesul invaders. They became a threat to some mammals in the distant future because of the intelligence developed and big sizes/aray of species in the mean time .Well Red Eared sliders are an invasive species of turtle comparabile to avian and mammalian invasive species.Sorry about the big block of texts.I made that post from my smartphone.I recently found the concept of speculative evolution so yeah.

"Chickenosaurs" don't seem to make sense to take over the world, and they're a breed... that doesen't even exist. Chickenosaurs, I honestly feel like are way to overated. That's like saying Silkie chickens will take over the world. |
