Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous.

Dragonthunders is trying to keep stuff from outside the forum to a minimum (going only with landmark works or particularly famous ones); as such, while Predakor's stuff is interesting, it's probably off the table.
Well, including terra mirus. It's cool, but not particularly famous or expansive
Remember that I take more points than being famous or expansive, such as quality, creativity and development, which terra mirus have.
Predakor's things are really good, but, for now i will not add them.
Okay, I guess that's fair enough. But something has been bugging me. In the last picture what is that giant long thing?

Yes, it is.
According to the site, is a descendant of the sperm whale, is called "Ocean tree"

It is quite interesting, implausible, but interesting as it has evolved a symbiotic relationship with barnacles and other small organisms that live on the skin, receiving most of the nutrients of these little animals, to the point of being so dependent on these that its digestive system and jaw has become atrophied. It becomes in a kind of floating reef.

Is a giant herbivore bird called Keratornis eurasiencis, one of a main ceratopsian-like forms quadbirds from 5 m.y. (just remember, is TFIW based work, so dont expect accuracy)

How does the whale breathe?
Projects
Punga: A terraformed world with no vertebrates
Last one crawling: The last arthropod

ARTH-6810: A world without vertebrates (It's ded, but you can still read I guess)

Potential ideas-
Swamp world: A world covered in lakes, with the largest being caspian sized.
Nematozoic: After a mass extinction of ultimate proportions, a single species of nematode is the only surviving animal.
Tri-devonian: A devonian like ecosystem with holocene species on three different continents.

How does the whale breathe?

My best guess is that they weren't really trying to be all that plausible, as Dragonthunders mentioned above. Mainly they were just trying to create weird animals.

that whale species is pretty strange for a future descendant of an modern animal.

Exactly.
Although to answer the question, it turns out that also the barnacles and other organisms make the gas changes, being able to transport oxygen to the body, so that the whale will no longer take air from the surface, although they use their lungs as a kind of flotation bladder.

Again, the speculation of that work is kinda bizarre, mostly is directed to the weird and aberrant, not being so accurate in if is possible or not that those animals could evolve.

Can you label the creatures individually? Or put numbers next to them and have a live matching number with the name of the creature?

Looking at the Alternative Evolution section, I can't help but wonder if The Twisted Mirror might show up on this chart someday. It's still a fairly new project, but what's been shown already is freakin' amazing.

Is probable, I want to give new projects a time of test to see at the end if that project is developed efficiently or end up becoming one of several failed projects (which with Twisted mirror I doubth is going in that path)
