| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! In his comment he said "Real animal requests", as in requests specifically for the real animals size chart. Doesn't make his post about Settler's of the Deep any less pointless, but your example doesn't entire work. |

After a long time without any main activity about the spec creatures into the main chart, and apart of the real life chart, I started slowly the next wave of creatures that will be included in the V2 chart, including species not originally have added with the others, some new emerged over the months, and coming next new species for others projects. It has been a long time because of the focus I have given to other projects, personal things on real life and mainly because I have been trying to read the large number of existing projects to add such organisms into this new update, and I still have to read many more. I was also considering the points by which some other projects could or could not be added, I will still keep the same principles, adding others as complexity of the work and above all the fact that these should be mostly related to the SE community that we know (The SE forum, DA community) and nothing fan-made works and things that streak with poor developed fantasy. As an example here some already painted animals. ![]() Several of the serine titanic birds, a retouch of a rhinograd in conjunction with other giant species that I had not noticed at the beginning, the Thunderwhale from settlers from the deep, the great Colossopede from Diyu, the dreadnought from the Alithocene, the giant snail (yes, looks like a big slug but is a descendant of a snail) psychophant (look where it came from, here), and the strange Tiamat from Perdido. And here the first sight of the Alien chart ![]() The largest terrestrial and aerial organisms from Nereus, Darwin IV, and just because they are already done, the Snaiad fauna in comparison with sme of the biggest walking and aereal organisms extinct and alive. Remember, is just the beginning, there is a lot of aliens yet to be added ![]() I think it would be good to also establish that I will not add some things that several Speccers know as Primeval or Metazoica. Primeval because they barely show something more deep about the future worlds where the few future animals came, because “monster television show” and Metazoica because I still see some things that are not plausible like multiple giant groups of mammals, mammals are the predominant group in air, land and water (?), etc. |

Well, that's supposed to be published tomorrow, but now... Since it is unlikely that I will put the biggest known beings by SE members in the same size chart (for now) I decided to do some charts separately on a smaller scale to compare to one of the larger beings made for a fictitious ecosystem... ![]() This first one is going to aappear on the aliens chart at the same scale as the others, 1 m in the actual SE chart is equal to 2 cm, so the actual size of the Emperor Sea Strider in scale would be 380 cm tall, just imagine a model of that size ![]() This second being much smaller because if I did it in the scale on which I have been working would be suicide for my photoshop and my compute, being 2 cm equals to 10 m. First on the left, the actual giant of 190 m tall, behind it, its twin from the documentary, followed by 2 of the largest animals ever, the whole organisms of the original size chart (plus because is essential) with few new additions and finally with the tallest plants on earth. To add something else I have not published on DA a comparison of the next few darwinian giants left to draw Spoiler: click to toggle |

Yeah, no way the 190m sea strider can exist. Low gravity or not, the square-cube law limits the size of any living creature, one that evolved from normal sized ancestors at least. The blue whale is already near the size limits of a living animal. |

That's actually bigger than the largest version of Godzilla (which I believe in Shingodzilla, though I don't know his height, I just know he's a little taller than Legendary's Godzilla who's 105m). Speaking of Kaiju, I know this is suppose to feature giant species from the SE forums but could Kaiju make it here? |

But then you'd have to include monsters like Bagan who is 150m tall. And then there's Ancalagon the Black (not a kaiju) from the Silmarillion who makes the Seastrider look like a walking mushroom. |

Well, yeah, but also what I had already written in the first place
Spoiler: click to toggle
Just maybe godzilla, taking into account that it is the most famous kaiju.
Bagan is mostly a conceptual desing that has not had an important role in the lore of the kaijus movies or history, apart from some video games, so it would be irrelevant to add it. |
