Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Barren celestial bodies, barely capable of sustaining life, are suddenly vitalised in the span of just a few million years. What's stranger is that the life didn't evolve - it's transported from other planets where life has already evolved, with some sort of idiosyncratic nature to them. The planets have been terraformed: an artificial process that requires an intelligent species to be carried out. While every sophont capable of space travel can terraform a planet to a degree, these ones are often the work of the Aimrepsanps: an enigmatic race of aliens. Why they do this is unknown, but they appear to have some sort of religious background to it. List of Terraformed Planets/Moons Riggslandia Riggslandia was one of the first worlds discovered by humans. All tetrapods here a descended from one species: the Brachiosaurus.
