| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Its been a long, long, LONG, LONG time since I have been on this forum! My last activity was... I don't know... months and months I think even last year! I should come more often here so here is a thing that I had in my mind: the Raiser. The Raiser would be a ~3900m tall structure that would be able to lift the bow of the Titanic's shipwreck up to the surface. That's right: raising the Titanic. Such a thing will face many problems especially the depth of the shipwreck (~3800m deep), the energy and force required for a movable "platform" along the tower that must be able to life half of a ship (which is quite heavy) and others. Such thing might just be fantasy but if it could be built... Eventually, boats can pass through the tower since it will have gaps especially at the surface. And if the titanic is lifted out of the surface, a bigger transport boat can be used to put the Titanic on it and eventually transporting it to America (the closest place to the shipwreck). It can be renovated, cleaned and then transported all the way to Belfast in Europe, where it can be a floating museum or be in a museum (a big one or an "open air museum"). What do you think guys? |

Your last activity was in August. Also you signature is too big. Put it in a spoiler. On the topic at hand - impossible. At this point the Titanic wreck is too fragile to be reliably lifted up, and it has since become an ecosystem. Raising some dumb old boat isn't worth destroying such a unique ecology. |
