Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous.

I just realized this has some crurotarsians in it, like in TA. Whoops. Soz JF

Aetosauria - Elephant/Pig like forms
Phytosauria - Crocodiles
Prolacertiformes - Small scavengers, except for Shavopteryx descendants, and isolated large creatures
Rauisuchia - Big carnivores, and some gallimimid like forms
Rhynchosauria - Hippo like creatures
Trilophosauria - Ungulate like life forms
Younginiformes - Lizards
Avicephala - Bird like, chameleon like in some forms
Thalattosauria - Sea-lizards
Sphenosuchia - Most non volant arboreal carnivores

I'll get some work started on this soon. If anyoone would like to help, just ask.

Having slight conundrum at moment chaps. Currently wondering whether to put this creature (sans shades, cigar, axe and spear) under arboreal sphenosuchids or drepanosaurs.

Yes, it does look a bit cartoony, so it's meant to be an intelligent species?

Yes. On the other site I talked about, which I can provide a link to if you want, they are roughly stone age level of tech, but in this universe, they'd probably be a bit lower than chimps on the intelligence scale.

Just gonna make a point here. Ten pages. One-thousand, eight0hundred and forty views. Does my work make good viewing? Almost, but not quite, worthy of comment?

Perhaps your posts are to detailed and well though-out for us to have any constructive criticism? ;)

I had this problem too, with Djeres. But you can't expect people to post in topics when they have no ideas about them.
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

I always though it was because most people don't know as much about crurotarsians as they would with say dinosaurs.

Well, they can come here and learn...in a twisted, violent, mentally disturbing fashion..

No net yet. Next jobs are just gonna be getting some descriptions done for groups instead of individual species.

Many people on this site have trouble understanding what some of these words mean
I got round this by writing short stories set in my project
