| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! I hate civilization War, famine, genocide, racism, etc. are all cvilization's fault. Had man not developed civilization, the world would be so much more peaceful (yet so devoid of culture, arts, and reason).... Its can go either way I guess...But yes, I just wanted to clear up my thoughts on civilization in three sentences

Very few animals build war ships. Anyway famine and racism would still be here if it were not for civilization. |

If you blame civilazation, then I blame today's main religions. Not that have anything against christians (in fact, some of my friends are christians), but I think that many people use religion in an incorrect way or that some ideals are cruel and unfair (lamna pointed out budhism's faults), or that people understand religion bad (that, for instance, reminds me that christianity should promote peace and equalty, and yet we have all those bigots in USA like the KKK killing black people, muslims and homosexuals). I think religion was only usefull when invented the moral code. However, I'm doubtfull that religion was really necessary for moral to be developed; Aesop's Fables appered well before Christ, and yet they transmit most of the morals found in the Bible. |

The KKK is not a Christian radicalist organization. It is composed mostly of Christian radicalists, but it was not founded by them. It was founded by anti-abolitionists after the American Civil War. Not that they aren't bad for society, it's just that misinformation usually leads to more misinformation and so on until the KKK is suddenly an organization founded by slaves to make the white race appear evil so that the alien overlords will destroy the white race so that the slaves could inherit the Earth. Which is totally ridiculous, as there is no such thing as races. I also dislike civilization. I would rather us humans remain in our tribal stance forever. We were much more peaceful in that way. Not that there wasn't violence, but less so than now. Of course, it's a little to late to go back now. One thing I hate is people who are totally anti-communism/anti-socialism/anti-marxism. Yes, the systems don't work on their own, but neither does capitalism. As I always say, we must capitalize on socialism. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

It requires a few things you just won't find: 1. A leader who will honestly and truly take all the resources of a nation and honestly divide them equally amongst the population. 2. A leader who will not misuse his near-absolute power. 3. People who are willing to work for no pay. 4. An upper class willing to surrender their luxury for equality. It's based on the principle that all people should be equal (middle class). Of course, the upper class won't want to surrender their luxury and the lower class will want nothing less than luxury. So it can't really work, especially if the government is given control over all resources then expected to divide them equally amongst the people. |

I am sure we will be able to make computer that could do that.
It would be very hard to create a computer capable of power abuse
Well then, we will just have to give the lower class luxury then. Technology will eventually allow even the poorest people to live very comfortably.
This is the only major problem. You are going to have to seriously socially and genetically engineer people to remove their individualism, but frankly that is only a few steps better trying genetically modify people to make them aryan against there will. (Or is worse? There is a interesting ethical question) A little bit of socialism is good. Health care, Police, Rescue services and Military should be or remain socialized. I am not saying that there can't be private organizations that fill all these roles* in fact it might be good to have several privately owned ones, but I think there has to be something to fall back on. *As long as a Militia is a self defense force only and can't be used to invade willy nilly. You cannot be just capitalist or just socialist. They just do not work on their own. However, a balance of both is healthy for any nation. I agree with you. |

You can't go too far a try and make lazy people equal to scientists, but you can't leave people behind either. |
