I will be in need of some recruits (no, it's not a military operation, lol!) But I will need some peeps to help me think up and then fix some species for the fish, birds, reptiles and invertebrates pages that I plan to add in the near future. I haven't thought up very much for these classes over the past years, as I have been concentrating a lot on the mammals portion. I have thought of some over the years. Among them are these: Arasoupia (a tiny, tree-dwelling mollusk, like a squid that catches prey like a spider with a string of sticky slime). Pinnatosuchus (a descendant of the salt-water crocodile that has flippers instead of legs and an arrow-shaped tail). Apterpsittus (a large, flightless parrot). Well, that's pretty much it for now. I've been concentrating so on mammals I haven't had much time to do other groups except the flightless birds. Which in the Metazoic there are many because I have bats taking over the skies. But I will give full credit to whoever can help me with these projects. Remember the Metazoic era is a period between 10 million years from now to 65 million years from now. (maybe start sooner as I don't think the age of man has that much longer to go.) So far, I have had 3 offers and I'd love to see what you all can do in the way of illustrations and stuff. Don't worry about putting my drawings to shame!!! I know my drawings haven't been the greatest. Anyone who wants to help we can discuss anything about it on this topic. Or we can do it through PMs, whichever you prefer. |

Okay, for me to help fully I will need the geography of the planet, the exact time(lots of stuff can happen from 10-65 million years), and habitats. I would say somewhere around 30-50 giving enough time for bats to take over. Anyways I also would like to know if the Amazon is still a forest, or is it a savvanah or something. I have an idea for a reptillian hunter for that area. |

The geography, in colored detail as far as where the plains and forests are, can be seen on my website. There are 2 pages here: http://www.metazoica.com/MetazoicWorld.html |

How about a snake that "fishes" for fish in the Amazon. The tip of its tail pink, and it wiggles it in the water. A fish bites it, and the snake using muscles in the tail it wraps aound the fish quickly, and then eats it. |

The thing is, I really suck at drawing snakes. Anyways I have an idea for an aquatic killer for the Amazon, but I need to know if crocs are around? |

Yes, crocs will still be here. They may dominate over caiman in the Amazon river. Anyone else want to try for drawing snakes? |

Anyone still want to help with this? I made a chapter on my site about the flightless parrot, on a new page for the flightless birds. I still need someone who can do the repts and invertebrates. |

I could help with invertebrates and maybe reptiles, but I couldn't contribute regularly, seeing as I'm already helping with Evolutionary Continuum and my own projects. |

That's OK. I only need enough to put a good chapter on my site, and to let others know these animals are still alive and kicking in the Metazoic. Who wants a crack at drawing the croc? |

For the galapagos, how about some swith has happened in the oceans currents, causing the waters of the galapagos to be warmer, allowing the marine iguana's to get in the water more, and more. Eventually they become bigger, and hunt fish in the waters. |

Well, some iguana relatives take on a semi-carnivorous lifestyle. Maybe a marine iguana could, given enough time to evolve. |
