Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Wait, why did you list me as the creator of the Shelcus?
Also, we are now officially on generation 3!

Currently figuring out Cytelbearn 3's local planets in the solar system. Ought to have it up on the wiki in a day or so.

What do you mean? Is it that I should change its size to something more precise or are you referring to something else?

Updated the wiki and working on some more species. Unfortunately, the building of the Cytelbearn Solar System is taking longer than I expected.

At the end of each week, there shall be a disaster that shall drive some of Cytelbearn 3's species extinct, and may even affect the environment/climate in some way. However, I haven't quite thought of what the disaster ought to be yet, so does anyone have any suggestions? Once we come close to the end of week 1, I shall place these suggestions in a poll.

Sounds like a good idea! Also, for my new submission I tried using some photorealistic textures. Unfortunately, these didn't work very well so I probably won't attempt it again.

Don't get discouraged so quickly. The only way to get better is to keep trying.

Besides, I think the vapors (well, whatever you call the thing coming out of underwater vents anyway) looked nice. You might want to look up how those plumes actually look like. They're not clean curly wisps, but instead dark billowing smoke.

Just remember the three universal rules of "How to Art":

1. Practise
2. Use references
3. More practise
We have a discord. If you want to join, simply message me, Icthyander or Sphenodon.

Yeah, I think the smoke/steam should've been a bit darker. I think in the future I might try overlaying textures(e.g Scales, fur, skin etc) on some of the more multicellular fauna. Thanks for the advice!

The main thing is you shouldn't use different styles in the same image - as long as that criterion is met you're mostly good to go.

Just finished off the wiki page for Cytelbearn. Sorry it took longer than expected. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the stats for the planets in the system onto the wiki at some point in the future.

New Cenozoica (my attempt at expanding the universe of The New Dinosaurs and also a re-imagining of it, also coming 2019 or 2020)
