| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Yes, Kameron Scott Kent née Phillips. Don't be a smart arse saying that comics are visual novels because you use your eyes. I mean the interactive games with minimal animation, where most of what you do is just click to advance, and select choices. And those "games" with no choices where you just advance, kinetic novels. The ones I enjoyed the most have been Katawa Shoujo and The Fruit of Grisaia. The ones I was most impressed by were Analogue: A Hate Story and Hate Plus. The first two are broadly similar, a messed up guy goes to a school for messed up people, meets messed up girls. Katawa Shoujo is about physical disability, while The Fruit of Grisaia is more about mental health, mainly trauma. The Hate games are about a "space detective" (I prefer to think of them as a historian) investigating a colony ship where everyone has died long ago, with the help of two AI on the ship. Analogue: A Hate Story deals with why everyone died while Hate Plus deals with how the spaceship ended up with a society like medieval Korea. Hate Plus is also famous/infamous for it's achievements and unusually demanding play style. You have to play the game over three days, or otherwise mess with your time settings. There is a section where an AI asks you to make a cake, if just click to say you are done right away the game will know not enough time as passed. You can just wait if you like, but there is an achievement that will only unlock if you email the developer a picture of you baking a cake with the game. ![]() There is also an achievement that's impossible to get. A security AI has no reason to exist after everyone she's responsible dies. What are Echo and Blackgate about? I see they are furry. Edited by lamna, Aug 17 2016, 04:16 PM.

Echo is about an otter college student hanging out with his friends (you may pick one for romance) and doing research on his dreaded hometown. It's a horror and legitimately well written. Blackgate is about a dunce ending up in the titular Blackgate. It's stupid as hell but the porn is excellent. |
