Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

I really do loved those awesome models up there.
I wish that i was there to see them myself.

Anthropozoic (my attempt at expanding the universe of Man After Man and also a re-imagining of it, coming 2019 or 2020)
New Cenozoica (my attempt at expanding the universe of The New Dinosaurs and also a re-imagining of it, also coming 2019 or 2020)

Hopefully, if and when this Ark closes/gets shut down, those models will get donated to an actual museum somewhere.
My Projects:
The Neozoic Redux
Valhalla--Take Three!
The Big One

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.

Oh yeah, I hate it when they do that.

Also a few years ago I stopped worrying that much about creationism. I mean, it's dumb and misleading, yet it won't change the facts. Belief in evolution is optional, participation is not.
Aye. Worrying about unpersuadable people is like trying to move a mountain with your bare hands. Just don't let them bother you and ignore them, there's no point in arguing with them or arguing about them. Worry instead about educating the next generation properly.
But these people will raise children of their own. Plus, they influence politics and thus the school system. You might let those people be, but they won't let the education system be, because they are trying to get creationism taught in the classroom alongside evolution.

Even if you do not care about them, but future generations, there's still reason to act today. (Not that there is much we can do, but you get my point.)
We have a discord. If you want to join, simply message me, Icthyander or Sphenodon.

I do not mean that we should let creationism be (sorry if it sounded like that's what I meant), rather your point exactly. I meant that there is no point in arguing with them and convince them of evolution, rather keep their children properly educated. If they try to push creationism in schools, they should be all means stopped.

BREAKING NEWS
We interrupt your regular programming to bring you this cutting edge report.
ATTENDANCE DROPS DRASTICALLY ON SE SERVER
This past Monday on Discord, famous server Speculative Evolution took a hit in the attendance office when it's offline member list suddenly reappeared. Mods scrambled to rectify the situation, but unfortunately there was little anyone could do. Server member Ivan was asked what he thought of the situation. "So long as Flisch, lord of machines and scion of Urborg lives, all will be well". SE, (in)famous for it's eccentric userbase, has recently been spiraling downward, and now we have hard conformation of the decline. Moderator "High Lord" Icthyander states "There is nothing to be concerned about, Discord is merely changing its UI again", but members are beginning to suspect the honesty of their staff.
Stay tuned, we'll be back with more at 11.

I'm happy they decided against the originally planned live animal exhibits - animal welfare in those close quarters would be dismal.

On the one hand, that. On the other, it helps solidify the status of conservatives as fake and artificial people. Quite the Morton's Fork, working in our favour.
Come on man, you can't equate all conservatives with young earth creationists. Fiscal conservatives =/= Social conservatives

And even socially conservative people aren't idiots. I know a bunch who, contrary to popular belief, are pretty smart.

Yeah, and even if you don't agree with creationists on that concept, that doesn't mean they can't be decent people. I have friends who are creationist (possibly even young earth) that I get along with fine in general life. I don't think they're right of course, but that doesn't make them intellectual degenerates. If anything, the increased polarising between liberal and conservative is scarier, as it makes both sides more radical. I can sort of understand the cries of the progressives in this way. People on both sides of hte spectrum can be nice or jackasses. Take conspiracy theories for example. One on hand, many conservatives reject global warming, while on the other, theres some liberals who claim 9/11 was an inside job- both sides have their share of things like that. Then you get fringes like the communists and neo-nazis who complain about everyone.

Someone who is socially conservative ain't smart by default.

This, everything about this. I personally hold insulting or disliking someone over their religion in just a low regard as I do disliking or insulting someone over their race, sex, or gender.

But I'm gonna try and stay out of this thread for the most part.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one.

Being smart doesn't make you hold certain political or religious views by default. Knowing a lot of stuff intelligence (thanks Kam) isn't tied to left wing or right wing ideas, and never has been. Just going by numbers, there are a lot of people who hold views that you and I may consider socially conservative; millions of them, in fact. Well educated people are all over the place in terms of opinions and ideology, and there is no one ideology that is correlated with intelligence or stupidity.

Just gonna drop this little tidbit on you - Intelligence is not synonymous with knowing a lot of things.
