Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Third party link but has discussion

I know creationism, especially Young Earth, isn't exactly looked well upon here and for good reason but it's pretty surprising that this kind of thing is so endorsed even in the US, and it's a shame they buy into the whole Flintstones-esque idea of dinosaurs and man living together and being featherless as lizards. That said, the attention to detail on the models is stunning, and they even have relatively obscure species like Pakicetus on display which is at least of note for a mainstream display to have. Other than the obvious, are there any other opinions people may have here.

And yes, I know there is potential for flame bate here, but I hope it doesn't boil down to that and I'll try to avoid it and allow relatively neutral discussions.

Am I the only one that finds it odd that a creationist museum has top-notch models? Look at them, just look at them:

Where are your E.B.F.F.s, but LOOK AT THAT MODEL MAN.

Nigersaurus and Stegosaur that seems to be Stegosaurus from that creationist musuem

Look at that Azhdarchid (Lack of pycnofibres, but look at it. LOOK AT IT.)

"Top notch" is debateable, but it's not hard to believe, since many fanatics are rich. Investing in actual charities is an alien concept to those sociopaths.

I want to see if the mammals have a lack of hair/fur. They even have a Simosuchus.

Wish this was for a Natural History Museum.

You'd expect a creationist group would actually donate to charities, but no they invest big bucks to make these neat looking models.

The American Museum of Natural History tried investing in feather, they got mixed results.

I can't blame anyone for investing on models like that, to be honest.

Look on the bright side; at least they aren't claiming that dinosaur bones were put in the ground by Satan.

Oh yeah, I hate it when they do that.

Also a few years ago I stopped worrying that much about creationism. I mean, it's dumb and misleading, yet it won't change the facts. Belief in evolution is optional, participation is not.

Aye. Worrying about unpersuadable people is like trying to move a mountain with your bare hands. Just don't let them bother you and ignore them, there's no point in arguing with them or arguing about them. Worry instead about educating the next generation properly.

Final SE Lifelist standings

BREAKING NEWS
We interrupt your regular programming to bring you this cutting edge report.
ATTENDANCE DROPS DRASTICALLY ON SE SERVER
This past Monday on Discord, famous server Speculative Evolution took a hit in the attendance office when it's offline member list suddenly reappeared. Mods scrambled to rectify the situation, but unfortunately there was little anyone could do. Server member Ivan was asked what he thought of the situation. "So long as Flisch, lord of machines and scion of Urborg lives, all will be well". SE, (in)famous for it's eccentric userbase, has recently been spiraling downward, and now we have hard conformation of the decline. Moderator "High Lord" Icthyander states "There is nothing to be concerned about, Discord is merely changing its UI again", but members are beginning to suspect the honesty of their staff.
Stay tuned, we'll be back with more at 11.

I can't wait to visit this place ten years after it's abandoned. It will be sick.

To be honest I never thought that old hunk of woodPunwould ever actually go anywhere. Though the one thing that really surprised me was that there was absolutely no image of an exhibit in which extinct archosaurs and man interacted. They had that in earlier exhibits.

Now I wanna make a horror movie that takes place in an abandoned creationist museum.

Actually, no. Just make it be another Night At The Museum movie.

I'm happy they decided against the originally planned live animal exhibits - animal welfare in those close quarters would be dismal.

On the one hand, that. On the other, it helps solidify the status of conservatives as fake and artificial people. Quite the Morton's Fork, working in our favour.
