Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

If any of you have seen any interesting wildlife, describe the experience here.

Since it's FINALLY warm again after SNOW in APRIL (that's Wisconsin for you), the frogs are getting pretty loud, and a few days ago, i went down there to see them. The chorus of wood frogs is very loud at close range, and you can see them in the water, wrestling with other males for prime spots, engaging in amplexus, and calling, which makes little air sacs expand directly behind their armpits. All in all, they sound kinda like an army of tiny but very upset ducks. There was also a lot of aquatic snails, which could climb on the underside of the water's surface tension, and i saw a dragonfly nymph, and observed it's jet propulsion!

Earlier this morning I saw a Red-Shouldered Hawk devouring some prey. Possibly a Desert Cottontail rabbit, since I saw it consume what looked like a bunny ear.
The Library is open. (Now under new management!)

I don't know if this counts but some feral cats have been coming into my backyard and either playing or fighting with my cat, even though she can't reproduce there were two kittens with her.
