Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

In the year 3018 we made contact with alien life. They came to earth in their living ships, and they beamed themselves down to the planets surface. The race was known as the Bygons, Creatures almost too alien to describe. They had four armoured legs, genetically modified to have a chrome exoskeleton. They had a long cranium and four eyes on their insectoid faces. They had a varying amount of arms and other body parts. They gene spliced ther DNA with other alien organisms they found thought the Galaxy, so no individual looked the same.

The Bygons were peaceful at first, but some of us were scared, and fucking raciest. Some individual humans wanted to chase off the Bygons, but others wanted to kill them in cold blood. After an attack on a Bygon nurturing center, the aliens got mad, very mad. Thus began a massacre, where humans were wiped out almost entirley. Humans put up a fight though, so the Bygons spared many primates. The remaining humans were experimented on, and transformed into a number of creatures. But just for pure curiosity they did the same to other animals too. Now it is 30 million years later, and the world is very different. Welcome to earth my friend.

a species of canid that's always male because the females are in Hell, that commits blood rituals on unborn souls, and assimilates others into its flesh belongs in a competition meant to foster a sensible and mature discussion of evolution.

Humans of the future

After the genetic meddling of the Bygons, humans were released back into the wild. The humans that were modified however, looked different than the others. One such population of new humans will be known as Man-Dogs. The Man-Dogs walked on four legs, and had a thicker body. They were still inteligent, but due to their new posture, they eventually lost that as well. Another group is know as the Flying Folk. These modified humans were turned into animalistic flying beasts. Nothing human was left of them anymore. An the last group is refered to as the Strangers. The Strangers lives up to their name. They had large heads, long spindly fingers. A mouth that could gape open to show a set of shark like teeth, and they had no eyes. They could sense the vibrations whenever they touched the ground, but that's about it. Today, thirty million years later, these human-animal groups still exist, along with some newer ones as well (dwarves, Merfolk, etc). Humans today are still successful, but no longer inteligent. Humans now, are no more than animals.
