| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! I imagined a fantsay world known as Alteronesia. Basically, it is located inside a concave planet extremely similar to Earth with the continents baring resemblances. In this world, Dragons, Wyverns, Marine reptiles and Dinosaurs cohabit together however the fauna of Alteronesia is mainly of Dragons and Wyverns which are on specific halves of the land. ![]() The two halves of this place are separated by seas. The largest one is the Plesiosaur Sea, where plesiosaurs and pliosaurs are dominant. The only place where the 2 halves are very near is at the 2 Worlds Strait. A bridge appears every 20 years. It appears for at least 1 minute before disappearing again. It is on this "rare" occasion to travel from the one half to another. Travelling across the sea can be dangerous because all along the symmetry axis (the 2 halves are symmetrical) houses various types of tornadoes, cyclones and other twister like formations, except at the 2 Worlds Strait. Actually, this dragon's "paradise" is located inside the human's Earth. The only way a human can get there is by going inside the Vesuvius while it erupts. The Vesuvius of the human world and this world are syncronized so if one erupts the other also does the same thing. The 2 Vesuvius are located underneath each other so this means that Italy in both worlds is the only place to travel through these worlds. In 79 AD, Pliny the Elder went to Stabiae, in order to take a closer look of the volcano. However, curiosity takes him closer into Pompeii, hours before the pyroclastic surge that destroyed Pompeii. He was the first human to enter into the crater, or actually falling into, and entering this parallel world. He never came back and so Pliny the Young thought he was dead. Soon other eruptions of the Vesuvius brought humans into this place. But they never came back. The last humans to enter was in 1872. After that, other eruptions occurred but no one entered the crater again. In total, only 16 humans went inside. And only 3 creatures from this world entered the human world, including the Nessie. In this parallel world, the Vesuvius is dubbed as a "portal". Eventually, almost 100 humans tried to enter the volcano between 79 and 1872 but again, only 16 made it through. This parallel world is known as Arminia. Arminia and Earth are one planet, separated by the crust only. This world is strange and "new". And it is still a mystery fro the rest of the humans... a mystery that will remain almost mysterious for a very very long time... |

“There's a tree," Starflight said, jumping to his feet. "In the forest." "No way," Glory said.
