| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous. Join our community today! |

All christians will technically go to hell because they don't obey the Leviticus to the core, as the Jesus guy stated clearly that they should follow the Law. If Xianity is correct and I am going to hell, at least I can laugh at the christians who thought they would go to Heaven. |

The idea of hell is extraordinarily unethical, can any deed in a human lifetime incur an eternity of punishment? What would punishment even matter after a few years? |

I'm far from a biblical scholar, and I know pretty much sweet FA about Judaism - but I am pretty sure Jews are far less focussed on the afterlife, and I don't think there is a "hell" in Judiasm? But I could be wrong? But the attraction of Christianity, is you can be a sexually depraved murderous schemer (like many popes were) then repent at your final curtain call and enter paradise... I guess that sums up Catholicism more than other denominations... I'm not picking on Catholicism or Christianity, I still believe in some of the values - but I'm borderline atheist (what my convictions tell me) borderline agnostic (what my fear of mortality tries to convince me of). I sent my kids to Catholic school (no nuns !) - because Catholic schools generally in Australia are "private", and often more multicultural, and they teach morals and values, and have academic standards VS government run schools which are only as good as their catchment area (i.e. lots of violent white trash and other human detritus in lower socio-economic areas), with academic standards set at the lowest common denominator - and no responsibility to teach tolerance and acceptance of differences (I tempered much of the Catholic rhetoric my daughters were taught with my support for freedom of choice and birth control and the rights of gay people etc). |

I think working on the sabbath is a worse crime than sodomy isn't it? |

The thing that i do not like about christianity (that i'm allowed to mention) is that it is used as an excuse for violation of morality. |

Every single Christian in the world has their own special version of Christianity. Some think that their denomination is the only one that will get you into heaven, others think that if you don't do something terrible, you'll go to heaven, whatever denomination or religion you are. And everything in between. |

Despite my dislike of Islam, as it's been abused and perverted in the cause of misogynism and used as an excuse to oppress women and mutlilate the genitals of young girls and perpetuate irrelevant old tribal ideas and conduct endless warfare and preach hate - the Koran itself doesn't deny Christians or Jews a place in Paradise, they are "people of the book"... And some "sects" also embraced Manichaeism and admit Zoroastrians as also "people of the book"... If more Christians got their noses out of the old testament, and more Muslims actually read and embraced the Koran, things may be a bit more tolerable for all ? |

People put their noses in which ever part of their texts supports their views, the same way as a poerson quizzed about their deity will think that their deity has the same morals etc. as them. |

In Judaism, and through much of the Bible, everyone goes to Sheol, a Hades like Underworld. The Bible, however, pretty much got tired of a fair afterlife and by Revelation Sheol is destroyed and people either go to Heaven or Hell. Modern Judaism pretty much followed Xianity, with good people now going to Heaven, and Sheol became a Hell analogue, but unlike Hell Sheol isn't a place of torture, but of purification, sort like the Catholic purgatory. |
