![]() The rule of the mammals is soon to be depleted, when a eruption not to dissimilar to the Great Dying occurs some 200 years from now. Before this, man made many genetic variants of his local fauna. These include the Armed Hoatzin (Opisthocomus Hoatzin) and the Chickenosaurus (Gallus Saurianus), who would survive this eruption. They were the destined rulers of this future earth. Holding niches not to dissimilar to the ancient non avian Dinosaurs such as Compsognathus and Archaeopteryx, and they quickly diversified into two groups: The often predatory Terrornithes and the Gallosaurians. These animals are certainly the oddest of rulers, exploding into a weird and wonderfully diverse range of forms, from Deinocheirus look a likes, to bizarre. Chupacabra mimicking hunters of the desert. These creatures spread everywhere, thus dubbing this new world as the Avizoic, the rule of the Birds. This project takes place 60 million years from now, where Europe, Asia and Africa have collided to form a Super Continent, South America split off into the ocean, and from North America, Antarctica became a lush, vegetative archipelago, dominated by many endemic animals, and home to relics of a time forgotten. This is earth, but not your earth. Welcome, to the Avizoic. III: The Family Tree of the "Avisaurians"![]() The "Avisaurians" is a collective term: This is often used to group two groups of genetically modified bird descendants: the Terrornithes and the Gallosaurians. Terrornithes are descended from the Genetically modified descendants of Hoatzin's, that radiated into a number of forms, including: The Terrornithidae, large sized (Often 4-5 meters) flightless Terrornithes adapted to hypercarnivory: They have large, stocky skulls that allow them to crush bone, not to dissimilar to a Tyrannosaur of the Mesozoic. They are found throughout Africa and Europe, and have surprisingly large arms, although this would be possible (Because of their small size). There are a current 10 genera found, with niches from Piscavores to Hyper Carnivory. The Archaeotyrannidae, how ever, are much smaller; as most members barely even reach 3 meters. They are omnivorous, with serrated beaks that chomp and chew on any foodstuffs; from Insects to plants. They are found in North and South America, and are related to the more terrifying Chupacabrids. Much more vicious than the Archaeotyrannids are the Chupacabrids, close cousins of the latter. They are around 2-4 meters in length, and are often pack hunters. More species have been found in what was once the South Eastern North America, and often have large, stocky skulls. They are scavengers, sometimes seen prowling around waterholes, and sometimes seen wandering around in the dark. They are the closest relatives of the Archaeotyrannids. Echornithes, however, are a rather domestic group of Omnivores. They are found throughout the world, even in the island archipelago of Antarctica. Unlike their relatives mentioned above, they retained their ability to fly. This allowed them to branch out across the globe, only suffering competition from birds proper. The Vulpeornithes are the most intelligent of the "Avisaurians". Equivalents of Foxes (Which are still around), these creatures perch among the treetops like carnivorous sparrows, although are able to think things through. They have serrated beaks, and are part of the food chain. They are found throughout the world, except for in Canada and Russia, where it might be to cold for these intelligent predators to keep their brains going. They are social, behaving somewhat like a mix between a fox and a Vampire Bat, as they can, and will, often feed members that haven't had enough food. Unlike the Vulpeornithes, the Gnathovulturids are... less intelligent. They still flock in groups, but they are much less intelligent. They are essentially armed and toothed Vultures, swarming around dead and dying animals, picking of the weak. Gnathovulturids are picky eaters, referring to eat only freshly killed animals, not some three week old thing. They are found throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. They are also found in Bewaar ( (Meaning "Preserved" in Afrikaans) The island continent that is the result of East Africa splitting from Africa, that contains animals that have, otherwise, been out competed, hence its name) and Madagascar. The latest group to arrive, the Brachiosirenids, often called "Sirens", are found throughout Africa and Asia. Reaching lengths of 1-4 meters, they have a long, serpentine bodies. Brachiosirenids are aquatic animals, with shortened faces that are sort of humanoid, and have beautiful, morning calls, hence their name, Sirens, as they resemble the Sirens in mythology that drag and kill local sailors. They have teeth, and long arms, and, in some species, big pot bellies, as a reference to a herbivorous diet. They are split into two families: the Avisuchinae, who are carnivorous, and the Brachiosireniae, who are omnivorous. Carnivorous forms (Avisuchinae) are usually 30 centimeters to a meter, whilst herbivorous forms (Brachiosireniae) are from 1 to 4 meters long. The other order that composes of the "Avisaurians" is the Gallosaurians. They are all follow a similar body plan not to dissimilar to creatures like Gallimimus, Gigantoraptor and Therizinosaurus.
