Humanity advanced greatly since 21st century.It had created great cities,it made Mars habitable,it created both new life,and complicated machines. Then,the Last War came.One side created Iron Snakes to win the Last War. Iron Snakes were snake-shaped machines created to end the Last War.They were led by A.I. named G.I.S.L.A.I.,who listened to human leaders. Snake Creators won war.Iron Snakes,alongside other weapons,were locked underground. On surface humans prospered,nature was restored and there were no wars. Underground,A.I. created machine people,Iron Snakes served as equivalent to police. A.I. created many machines and upgraded Iron Snakes using new technologies,so they could better serve their roles,but it itself became more and more damaged.A.I. tried to repair itself but it didn't succeeded. In 3212 the Event happened.Event consisted of solar radiation destroying many human technologies,including A.I..Iron Snakes were not destroyed,but without leadership,they begun attacking people they had to protect. Some of Iron Snakes got to surface,and begun attacking humans.Humans were not prepared for conflict,and were mostly killed.Remaining humans fled to Mars.Iron snakes had no targets,and so begun to attack,and finally destroy themself. Europe-300 YAE(Years After Event) We are near city,it is long abandoned,plants grows on streets,and rats make nests in pyramids.We go up to bridge over stream to broken gate.Near broken gate is maintaining machine repairing it.Behind gate we see mice coming out their hole,to eat seeds.Descendant of one of domestic cats that lived in this city waits in bush.One of mice sees something in bush,suddenly...cat jumps,and kill mouse.Other mice run back into hole.Cat drags mouse to bush,so other predators couldn't steal his prey.We go behind square,through street and finally to park.In park we see pig digging through ground to find roots.Ancestors of this pig escaped from farm destroyed by Iron Snakes. We return to square and face same way we faced when we entered square.We then turn left,and go through long street to another park.There we can see pack of large feral dogs of undeterminable breeds chasing deer.After escape of Man from Earth,dogs became so interbreeded between breeds that almost no breeds are recognizable. Europe-500 000 YAE We are in same city as before.In square where we seen mice and cat we now see fox chasing hen.Ancestors of this fox got here by digging under wall.Hen tries to fly away but it get stuck in bush,fox seems to win,but then...it fall into hole.Before fox get out hole hen runs away.We look up,and see squirrel climbing tower.Squirrels are very abundant in cities because they can climb very high buildings better than cats,because they(squirrels)have smaller claws,and thus they can climb smoother surfaces.But some cats can climb better than others...Meanwhile in one of pyramids something is moving.We are moving from square to pyramid where something moved,to check what it was.In pyramid is no furniture,but there are many rat nests.Rats are building their nests in badly reachable places,so cats can't get to them.There also are mice,which build their own nests,and sometimes steal material from rats. These rats live(like present rats)in groups.They gather food into nest,and store it in it.They also use nests to hide from predators,and to hide their offspring.In this situation,for cats it is more beneficial to be small.Small size enables cat to get to badly reachable nest. Europe-Cities 1 million YAE Climbing Cat Climbing Cat can climb really well.It has muscular legs with long claws,and elongated head.It can now reach climbing prey.It use its long head to better get to prey on high places.It also sometimes uses its climbing for escaping predators like packs of large dogs.Its prey includes squirrels,bird eggs,mice,insects and sleeping bats.It is descended from domestic cat. Rathunter Cat This descendant of domestic cat is small and fast.It also has shovel-like paws with wide claws.It uses its size and paws to getting into Wallbuilder Rats',its most favorite prey's nests.Its size is also beneficial to it because it can follow escaping rat through small spaces.They also hunt mice,and other species of rats.Some rathunter cats supplies their diet with underground invertebrates.They live where are Wallbuilder Rats. Wallbuilder Rat Wallbuilder Rats are descended from brown rats.Difference is in their behaviour.Wallbuilder Rats are social like their ancestors brown rats.They live in groups.Each group own their own nest made from plant material.Nests are fortified by walls and roofs made from sticks and twigs.These walls have holes big enough for rats,but too small for most cats.Nest are used for:hiding from predators,storing food,and hiding their young.They often nest in buildings and holes for additional safety and easier building.They mostly live in cities,because in cities are best nesting places,but sometimes they also inhabit forests. Monkeytail Squirrel These squirrels have prehensile tail,with shorter hair than present squirrels.They use their tails for better locomotion in trees.More specifically they will take hold of branch using their tail,and either climb to that branch,or swing to other branch.Otherwise,they are similar to present squirrels.They are descendants of red squirrels.Like them they are arboreal,they live in trees.Because of that,they inhabit places where are many trees,such as cities and forests. Lampsnake Lampsnakes look somewhat like snake,but like their ancestors,slow worms,they are not snakes,they also are not worms at all,they are lizards.Lampsnakes have flattened shape,and they use this shape to climb on street lights.They do so in night,when streetlights make light and heat,heat warms lampsnake,and light attracts insects,which are eaten by lampsnake.Lampsnakes have lighter coloration than other slow worms,this coloration helps to hide them as part of streetlight. Transportation in 33rd Century For transportation are used levitating vehicles,trains,ships,aircraft,"teleportation"and some other methods.For transportation of people is most commonly used switching(proper name for teleportation)and trains.After them are lev. vehicles,and after them is rest. Methods of Transportation: Levitating vehicles Levitating vehicles levitate in air.They do not actually fly,they just levitate.For propulsion are used propellers.They come in both personal,cargo and mass transportation variants.They are powered by electricity.They have accumulator which they use for storing electricity.Some get electricity from sun,other from charging stations. Trains Trains are still widely used for long-distance traveling and especially travelling between cities.Massive nets of rails are used to interconnect cities.Both underground and surface trains are used. "Teleportation" "Teleportation",properly termed switching is sometimes used for transportation.Switching means switching of two places.For example if bench is in park,and chair with cat is in one of pyramids,and we switch bench and chair,bench is in pyramid,and chair with cat is in park.To be switched both paces must have switching machines near them Connected Cities Cities are connected with other cities by paths,railway and tunnels.These tunnels are sometimes on surface and sometimes underground.Within some of tunnels ride trains.Some cities that are near,but due terrain are hard to get in,are connected by exchange stations.Ex. Stations use switching machines to exchange people and things between cities. After Event After event vehicles that humans didn't bring to mars were abandoned.No one knew how to use,or repair them,so over time they become reduced to scrap.Most switching machines were either destroyed by event itself,or by iron snakes,but maintaining machines quickly repaired them.But even though they were maintained,no one used them.Tunnels connecting cities were still used for their purpose,this time not by humans,but by many animals that called cities home. |

Stone Toad This toad has flattened shape,smooth brown skin and indistinct head.It is also more aquatic,both its appearance,and its liking of water are helping its hunting strategy.Stone Toads usually sit in stream,camouflaging as stones.If they see insect such as fly flying over stream they catch it with their tongue.This camouflage can be also used to hide from predators,who don't eat stones,but that is rarely needed,because stone toads like their ancestors common toads can secrete poison. Jumping Scorpion Jumping Scorpions are small yellow scorpions.They have long legs,each with three long and wide claws.They are able to jump.They use this ability mostly for catching flying insects,because they are well defended by their poison. Spinetrap Cactus These cacti have two types of spines,First type is straight,thick and sharp like that of other cacti for deterring of herbivores,and second is sharp,thin and hooked for catching insects.Spines are arranged into circles,each circle is of first or second type,never both.Hooked spines are for catching insects that walk or fly by.Soft-bodied insects that collide with hook-spines are impaled,and eventually die.Corpses of impaled insects then fertilize cactus.
