| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. I think the reason it's 14% is because whenever people come to the door asking "what religion are you?" the response is often "get the hell off my lawn". |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

Maybe. I think Chuck Norris once complained that most of America's population was "functionally atheist", just because many people don't go to the church! |

Well I think the atheist movement is growing quite a bit in the United States, the sad part is that there is little atheist representation in the government due to the fact that most people look for someone who has faith (in Christ). For instance, there is only and there only has been one atheist congressman (at least openly atheist). |

I imagine there are more Atheists in America than people think. We're not open much about it though, Atheists are the least trusted and most hated minority in America, but that's changing. The new generations are much more mellow than the baby boomers and even the flower children generation. I think our generation will be the one to actually fix America; to bring it back to what it was before World War 2. We were never quite the same after it, we suddenly felt like we were the only ones capable of running the world correctly...And look at what that's done to us. Our economy is in a wreck, corporations are far more powerful than even the government, the government's propoganda and the media's exaggeration have made us xenophobic and ignorant to others, and now our freedoms are slowly being taken away but things like the "Patriot" Act and such. It's sad really. |

Indeed, USA is remarkable for the fact its the only of the most powerfull countries to have things in favor of a theocratic government. I wouldn't be surprised if one day a new Inquisition appeared |

Unlucky for those politicians who wish for a theocracy, us atheists have the Constitution to protect us.

Many of the laws instated to protect us from terrosim violate the constitution. Did you know that the government can possess all money, belongings, documents, and means to get the aforesaid materials of suspected terroists? US citizens or not? That's not only a violation of our consitution, but a violation of international law as it extends to non-American citizens as well. It could be considered a declaration of war, if ever used stupidly. |

The Great Depression?! I'm sure that's not what you meant but it was the first thing the popped into my head.
Unfortunately we recently had a major party candidate who did quite well for himself say things like "The great thing about the Constitution is that we can change it" when asked how he expected to get some of fundamentalist Christian initiatives passed. |

I know. Thats why I once made a story about USA becoming a theocracy and attacking Canada; since it all happened in secret, Canada didn't had time to defend its borders and was completly destroyed, becoming a frozen desert. What a nice betrayal... |

I knew the government are planning an attack on the Canadians. Hurry sound the alarm we must save our last hope of not being destroyed and undermined by the Christian government. |

I wish I could give the public a true picture of the queen as she appeared at her best, but this would be impossible, even had she permitted a photograph to be taken, for her charming play of expression while in conversation, the character and intellect which were then revealed, were only half seen when the face was in repose. -Lilias Underwood when speaking of Empress Myeongseong "I was born in the dark. I went out into the light, and your Majesty, it is my displeasure to inform you that I have returned to the dark. I envision a Seoul of towering buildings filled with Western establishments that will place herself back above the Japanese barbarians. Great things lie ahead for the Kingdom, great things. We must take action, your Majesty, without hesitation, to further modernize this still ancient kingdom."-Min Young-ik to Empress Myeongseong | |

You know what fiction is, right? There's a quite large number of canadian christians, which would probably prevent the USA to attack Canada; however, in my story the USA's new lider, the theocrat, considers Canada's christians as "too tolerant" (tolerant christians are considered heretics in my fantasy world), so he didn't bothered to think twice before he bombed Ontario and the other canadian cities with nitrogen based gigantic bombs, and sent all the prisioners to death camps, except children, who were conserved in amniotic tanks and injected with hormones. They also did that to Portugal and any other country they managed to conquer, in case you're wondering...
