Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Anomalisa, directed by Charlie Kaufman, is by many critic's standards, the best movie of 2015--by which I mean it's gotten better review than Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Inside Out, or even Mad Max: Fury Road. It was given a limited release on December 30th, and will be getting a wide release this coming weekend.
And it is done completely in stop-motion animation.
Have any of you seen it?
What did you think of it if you did?

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.

If a movie has gotten good reviews, and nobody that matters has heard of it,did anyone actually see it?

Because the answer is no.

Well, like I said, it's not in wide release yet. It came out in New York and Los Angeles on December 30th, and it'll be getting a wider release later this month.

Well, I'm mentioning it because:
a) it's by Charlie Kaufman, the "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" guy, and
b) there's serious talk about it possibly being nominated for Best Picture.

Never heard of that one either.

The Oscars are a massive circle jerk, so a best picture nomination from them means nothing.

Then why would it be expected that we'd have heard of it, nevermind have an opinion on it?

Well, no one's even seen the trailer yet so it seems it's not getting much publicity, and people aren't going to talk about it.
