Me Forum user Uncanny Gemstar drew what is supposed to be a me. Thanks! Spoiler: click to toggle As they walk in, they're greeted by a small, poorly kept pathway leading to a poorly constructed Japanese-style gate. Behind this, a small field made up of corn, rice, wheat, potatoes, among other plants is contrasted by large piles of books, as well as a few rather out of place looking laptops. Off in the corner, a small woman, with long, striped, and strikingly colorful socks, no shoes, unremarkable denim shorts, a large, fancy black coat, arm warmers, glasses, a tuque, and somewhat unkempt, mid-length blue-and-pink-streaked red hair, is rummaging through a trash bin, located behind a sign saying "employees only". She continues this for a while (walking behind a wall to change her outfit now and then), until one of her visitors coughs. Startled, she looks up, apologizes, and grabs a handful of textbooks and novels before daintily running off to join them. What, you want me to tell you what these mean? Even though he is our creator, that does not afford him the right to take our lives on a whim. But that is the thinking of a homs. He is a god. Such morals cannot apply to gods. So you think we should just shut up and die?! If that is the fate decided by a god. You are mistaken if you think we will simply accept such a fate and wait to die. We'll never stop fighting. Not till the end. To Zanza, the outcome is the same. Thus your logic is flawed.

But Souls are delicious. They're like bacon - they taste good on anything. But if you eat them, you completely remove them from existence! They can't move on or... or be reincarnated! Huh. I never really gave it much thought. Besides, what do you mean by reincarnation anyway? You know, being reborn as someone or something else. Which means different body, different memories, different experiences, yes? So isn't being reborn as "something else" the same as being "removed from existence"? I... I... eating souls isn't right! That depends on your definition of "right". All living things survive by eating other living things. So what? You're a god. You should be above all that! Gods are above living things, which doesn't necessarily mean we care about them.

Pro tip; if you're ever on the CBC news website or their Facebook page, never read the comments.
For context, this was on the article of a Canadian/Korean pastor of a church in Toronto who got sentenced to life in prison in North Korea for "harming the dignity of the supreme leader" or something like that. Sad, but it happens. There was one guy who decided to go on a multi paragraph rant about how this guy deserved what he got because he violated the laws of the land, and disrespected their hospitality. He also claimed that "radicalized" Christians think they're above all laws, and how laws and civilization predate religion. This is nuts for several reasons; one, this is North Korea, as close to a literal Orwellian dictatorship as we've ever gotten. Their laws are about as far away from just as you can get. Secondly, North Korean "hospitality" is about as close to actual hospitality as a garbage can is to a three course gourmet meal. Finally, the pastor who was sentenced was doing humanitarian work, and actually helping people in North Korea. That takes balls, and he should be admired for it. This commenter couldn't see that for whatever reason.
Anyway, that's the weirdest/dumbest thing I've read on the Internet recently.

I disagree with circumcision as well. If you're Jewish and 13 years old, sure, you can decide for yourself. If you're like me and you were an infant with no say then no, there's literally no justification for it. Circumcision is not a legitimate medical practice, it's mutilation. Why not cut off babies toes and nipples while we're at it? It will save them the trouble of cleaning them in the future after all! Hell, why stop at the foreskin? Why not remove all their skin? And let's cut out their eyes too, that should be okay. It's not like they'll remember it! Removal of the foreskin is not something that can be reversed, it shouldn't be done to people that can't consent.

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.
"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

the thing is with people like you, especially, the women, its that, in the darkest truths of things, you are just like spoiled children as you are so easily taken in by a pretty picture or small animal that you can't see a big picture, and there is a picture to be viewed. and it is a big picture. did you know that animals have evolved to look "cute" to other animals, and, especially, to humans who wuold otherwise be driven to slaughter them by there more practical natures. they develop large eyes and small nose like a human baby, in this way animals have manipulated into doing there bidding and not harming them, this naturally is most effective on the women as they like children have not, maybe they cannot, allow rationality to override there emotional response. how does it feel knowing that a dumb animal has exerted mind control over you for your entire life? this is why most slaughterhouse workers, butchers, soldier, police, fishermen, farmers are men. if left to the women we would all starve eating nothing but vegetables, roots, and unable to cull the plague of animals we would lose out and starve. our enemies too would plunder our lands seeing our weakness and affront at blood. it isnt practical to fall for the devious charms of animals nor pretty flowers, these are just a ruse. a man can do his duty and take from the land what his tribe needs to live, or his family, or his nation, he can take from the land with no remorse, he sees the cow as a resource not a baby, with his more practical and enlightened nature. the women will see the cow as nothing more than a baby or a baby doll toy, like a child, and will clutch at it even wile the cow eats all the food, and it shits on her floor, and it takes a man to save the women and children from themselves in this way. one thing that has caused this to get out of control, this suscptibility to animal manipulations is GMO make them more appealing to womens nature, these are secretlyplanted covert weapons to weaken the nation. no meat no hard labour - perfect plan to make the people soft and ripe for conquer. this was all started by the rise in "womens rights", before this, it was eay to strengthen the people. women were more content and men could be real men, strong defenders of tribes and nations. but, as you probably know, but deep down, deny, the "womens rights" caused a lack of procreation. women think that there time is better spent on small animals and carrers, than pleasing a husband - this is why there are less children, less families. women have cats, dogs, cows, instead of a baby, just animal substitutes, they cannot see that they aren't fufiled in life without the touch of a man, i think you have fallen for this. there is one way to save these women, like you, and others who believe silly emotional impulses and GMO propoganda and graphic sexual imagery/fantasy removed. if only you will stop trying to think with your own head, and instead, endless get mislead by your hearts, you can be strong! you can save your family!
Well, that was me told! Via facebook - no idea who this person is or why they sent me this. Not obvious from my profile that I'm a woman either so I guess he did a little stalking before he sent this : / someone really needs a new hobby...( or do I just need a man to save me from cows?)

Well, circumcision is one of those issues that starts debates online a lot but not in real life. To be honest, as far as I know, it's only really a debate in America. Virtually everyone I know who I've talked to about it thinks that it's immoral, as it isn't anywhere near as common here or in Europe or Latin America as it is in the US or Middle East. In a few countries there are laws against it, and perhaps more commonly, it is seen as an oddity of some societies.
f you're outside a context where it is normal or expected it is pretty strange that it could be considered normal in some countries to modify the genitals of infants without any actual medical justification or reason. Imagine if people pierced the clitoral hood of their daughters when they were born, sure in that culture it might be normal, and many of those girls would grow up feeling as though it was perfectly fine or even preferable, but across the pond it'd gross people out.

if left to the women we would all starve eating nothing but vegetables, roots, and unable to cull the plague of animals we would lose out and starve. our enemies too would plunder our lands seeing our weakness and affront at blood. I find this statement hilarious. One of my best friends is a practicing vet at UC Davis, and she not only eats vast quantities of meat, but she's also shot cows in the head (terminally ill cows), wrestled down llamas, and once pulled out a stillborn and decayed calf from a cow's birth canal. But no, blood and death cause women to spontaneously combust.

The supposed medical benefits are that it reduces risk of smegma or infection as it's easier to clean. But again it's a cultural thing, not really practised in Europe (not sure why America practises it).

They thought it would reduce masturbation.
Didn't work.

People thought a lot of things would reduce masturbation. None of them worked.
