| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! On a planet lightyears away orbiting a red dwarf, there was a small species of alien around 25 centimetres long and 82 grams, with four wings and proboscises on its anterior to drink and breathe though. It is a cosmopolitan species, found on nearly every landmass in the planet's northern hemisphere, and is very hardy and adaptable. Meanwhile, there was a species of intelligent alien also on the planet, who have dubbed the alien described above the Kurrererur (Koo-rare-rare-oo-wer). These aliens have just invented FTL travel, but have already managed to go to at least two solar systems and discover planets for them to inhabit. Among these planets is a small planet they dubbed Tzurae (roughly pronounced 'Chee-zoop-raid'), after an ancient spirit in their culture, notable for its distinctive sun colour and large northern hemisphere plain. However, just as they are about to start terraforming Tzurae, war broke out. Another species of intelligent creature lived on a planet right next to Tzurae, and claimed it for themselves decades earlier. Years later, the two races finally manage to broker a peace deal. However, it came with rules, the first was that the southern hemisphere of Tzurae was now a property of the other aliens once terraforming was finished. Among the species introduced was the kurrererur, which was introduced by the hundreds. While the alien colonists of Mars thought nothing of them but pests, in time they would come be be a very common sight. In short, Serina with aliens on Mars. |

Idea I'm going to do in a few years time or so. Tales of Anachronism Basically, a species or two are transported from their home time/biome into a completely new one. They are observed in documentary style writing in two stages. First the initial introduction, with things like following individuals, species interactions, survival (Yes or No), behavioral adaptation, etc. Then, a second stage where we see some of the introduced species descendants an unspecified millions of years later (Will vary). Each "episode" will focus on one or two species transfers. Think "Walking With Dinosaurs" but following the lives of these transported species and their descendants. Might as well share the first episode idea (I currently have about 7). Crested Penguins transported to Scotland.... in the Carboniferous Visean Scotland formation. |

Why are mammals almost out? They're very successful and seem to have a long way to go before dying down. If a Permian-level extinction happened, sure, but without that they will probably continue to dominate for many millions of years to come. |

They could die out,not entirely without a big P-T extinction event.Just take a look at what are what their brothers(humans)are doing to them. For example many big mammals will go out in the near future(elephants, felines, canids, ursids, etc).Well until they are dead, let's welcome our mongoose and badger overlords! |
