Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

I'm seeing if I can turn Littoralis into a bigger series (The Vivasphere series, respectively), and I want to incorporate some of its sister worlds into it (albeit, a limited number of them).

I've got three down, but I'm having trouble with the fourth one. I've been contemplating using either my parrot/frog world idea, or a chameleon world.

However, I'm open to suggestions from anyone who's interested. As long as it's a minimalist set (no more than 3 tetrapod species or less allowed), it's usable.
There's one that I wanted to do using only Micropachycephalosaurus and some prehistoric flora as well, but I also don't want to do it so feel free... If you need a modern day species to use I'd go for an otter, bear or pig, some more common mammals that usually don't get the spotlight in much terraformed spec.
Projects Currently Being Worked Upon:

Karkinos: Where faith meets myth on a world of the strangely familiar.
Under New Suns: The forums own colonisation race! Steep yourself in my lore....

Projects in suspension (for when inspiration hits):

- Galapagaia
- Rich Man's Ark (nice little bit of community spec :P)
- Ichor

Future project ideas:
Tale of the horned beasts - A alternate evolution project where ceratosaurus never went extinct and instead evovled to better fit the new challenges they shall face ahead of them.

Umber - A alternate universe project where portals have been opening up to a moon named "umber" other then a few species of freshwater and saltwater fish, as well as invertebrates. Pangolins,Iguanas,Noasauriade, and Cuttlefish are the most prominet group of animals.

Here's a Serina-like idea inspired by this pic

Posted Image

-During the 1780s, the British invent a time machine
-They go back in time to the Precambrian
-They leave behind The European Rabbit and several species of grasses (and possibly the Red Fox and the European Hare)
-Evolution ensues
That's a awesome idea bro please make that into a full project loved to see what would happen!

Where the only vertebrate is a lamprey.

Or, alternatively, the only animals are nematodes
Projects
Punga: A terraformed world with no vertebrates
Last one crawling: The last arthropod

ARTH-6810: A world without vertebrates (It's ded, but you can still read I guess)

Potential ideas-
Swamp world: A world covered in lakes, with the largest being caspian sized.
Nematozoic: After a mass extinction of ultimate proportions, a single species of nematode is the only surviving animal.
Tri-devonian: A devonian like ecosystem with holocene species on three different continents.

I've had an idea for an ark world project bumping around for a while now about a world seeded with modified life. Live-bearing doves, hexapedal geckos, double-headed polycheates, neotenic moths, tiny otter-like spinosaurs, and much, much, more. The idea would be to see how life would utilize adaptations that could never arise naturally, so it would be an interesting ride. As much as I would like to do this, I've got a project in the works, believe it or not, and it's not until that one has been running for a long while that I'll consider piling something else on.

Bonus list of central colonists for different ark world projects! I have no attachment to any of these, so if for some reason one strikes your fancy, by all means.

Drepanosaurs

Chameleons

Octopodes

Mudskippers

Platypodes

Dogfish

One day, in the far future, I would like to try my hand at a terraformed world seeded with cephalopods. I have had an idea for an extensive project detailing a cluster of terraformed planets and their inhabitants, but I won't be working on that for a good long time.

The tectonic upheaval required to move Asia/Australia east or America west, or the volcanic upheaval required to make volcanic islands to patch up the distance would be deadly to Earth life

Here is 2 other project ideas

The first one being is that gazelles,African elephants, and cheetahs are introduced to the carboniferous period as well as new species of plants and grasses for the herbivores

The second one would be a terraformed world project the twist? Only Anamalocarids,a few species of hadrosaurs and hyaenodons are introduced to the enviroment don't know of if i will do this one

Instead of the oceans covering the Earth or another planet, forests are in their place, making it possible to walk from continent to continent. Like oceans, it gets deeper and darker and creatures get weirder and rarer to see.

That sounds like a great replacement for saltwater oceans.

The New Ostracoderms (i might continue with this project again someday)
