Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

At regular intervals, non-organic creatures like the monster in the linked image would come out of seemingly nowhere and tend to the crops, harvesting them, trying to drive out anything trying to eat the produce, and planting seeds of normal, modern crops.
Is it possible to communicate with these... things?
Current/Completed Projects

- The Curious Case of the Woolly Giraffe: A case study of an eocene relic.
- Untittled Asylum Studios-Based Project: The truth behind all the CGI schlock

This sounds like an SCP, and I am completely for that. Seriously, I would love to see more projects that are the speculative evolution that results from more paranormal or extra-dimensional phenomena.[1]. Like this I could see being a farming universe for a species that has multi-universal travel, with the monsters there to tend to crops/livestock and cull any invasive species that managed to slip in.
[1] Insert plug for F.I.N.D.R here, you guys probably get the idea by now.

Yes and no. They seem to recognize attempts to communicate, but they give a reply. Are our words to them what birdsong is to us? Do they just not have anything to say? Nobody knows.

I think these 'Farmhands' (that's what i'm calling them from now on) communicate with one another through hand gestures.

I was thinking some kind of special frequency either undetectable or indescifrable to us. Though that might be a tad expected.

I'd say to us it'd look like they have no method of communication at all - it's completely beyond our understanding.
totally not British, b-baka!

I don't even really like this song that much but the title is pretty relatable sometimes, I guess.

What, you want me to tell you what these mean?

I like the idea Glarn, but I'm kind of confused to why aliens and prehistoric animals would be farmed.

But why not just cattle and normal farm animals?

Because it adds to the weirdness factor. You see creatures like that in a farm environment, and people start asking 'what the hell is this place?'.

Alright, so I've got interest for this. Good. Now, what should it be called? Something like 'The Fields' might be a bit too similar to The Library; perhaps 'Cornucopia'?

Possibly, though I also suggest something like "Farmlands".
