Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Preliminary images for upcoming project, Cay. Ignore the bird god thing. I still need help putting images here, but I think this works fine for now. Excuse my terrible "drawings".

BREAKING NEWS
We interrupt your regular programming to bring you this cutting edge report.
ATTENDANCE DROPS DRASTICALLY ON SE SERVER
This past Monday on Discord, famous server Speculative Evolution took a hit in the attendance office when it's offline member list suddenly reappeared. Mods scrambled to rectify the situation, but unfortunately there was little anyone could do. Server member Ivan was asked what he thought of the situation. "So long as Flisch, lord of machines and scion of Urborg lives, all will be well". SE, (in)famous for it's eccentric userbase, has recently been spiraling downward, and now we have hard conformation of the decline. Moderator "High Lord" Icthyander states "There is nothing to be concerned about, Discord is merely changing its UI again", but members are beginning to suspect the honesty of their staff.
Stay tuned, we'll be back with more at 11.

Those are quite good, Nitwhite. Don't be so down on yourself.

Anyway, here's my project idea, as elaborated on from the T-rex vs. Giganotosaurus vs. Spinosaurus post.

Basically, the project would take place on an Earth-sized planet with roughly the same gravity and conditions as Earth, with the ecosystems of Hell Creek (T-rex), the Candeleros Formation (Gigantosaurus), and the Kem Kem Beds/Bahariya Formation (Spinosaurus) being placed on different landmasses separated by mountain ranges, oceans, etc. After a century of time to adjust, these natural barriers would be removed, allowing the fauna to freely interact with one another. The project would then focus on the mishmash of fauna on the planet 30 million years in the future. (Or whatever amount of time would be long enough for some major change, but short enough to keep things recognizable.)

I'm debating whether or not to put the Morrison Formation (Allosaurus) and the Nemegt Formation (Velociraptor) in as well; hell, I may even put a Permian or Cenozoic ecosystem in as well. However, I'm stumped on what to put in the oceans: I definitely want Hell's Aquarium to be one of the fauna selections, but besides that, I don't know, although including the seas of Late Jurassic Europe is definitely tempting.

Anyone have any ideas for fauna or ecosystems to add?

Does anybody have any ideas and suggestions for my project The Ice Age?
Discontinued projects:
The New Ostracoderms (i might continue with this project again someday)
The Americas (where in 58 million years from now in the future North and South America has both become isolated island continents)

Anthropozoic (my attempt at expanding the universe of Man After Man and also a re-imagining of it, coming 2019 or 2020)
New Cenozoica (my attempt at expanding the universe of The New Dinosaurs and also a re-imagining of it, also coming 2019 or 2020)
All Alternatives or All Changes (a re-telling of All Tomorrows but with some minor and major "changes", coming June 10, 2018)

Cenozoic South America (T. birds and other weird things.)

If you wanna go really early, Devonian for Dunkleosteus.

I'm out of original ideas. Check back tomorrow.

I just thought of this: maybe (Although I'll most likely be to lazy to do this) a sort of "more accurate" version of After Man, because, well, to many Insectivore devieritives.

Pretty much a more plausible version of After Man.

People have done more accurate versions of Man after Man, which is a less popular book than After Man, so why not? Plus After Man is even more dated but has higher quality overall.

I've come up with an idea. It a collaborative project (anyone can contribute) and is set in a zoo/museum in the near future. The animals in said zoo are genetically modified, but for a specific purpose: to teach biology. Concepts such as gradualism vs. punctuated equilibrium, symbiosis, mimicry, and population genetics are taught to the general public through the exhibits, and plenty of scholarly work is conducted behind the scenes. Biologists test theories, create new organisms, and teach the public in the innumerable lecture halls, laboratories, and realistic habitat reconstructions. Most of the project would be open for public work, but it would have to adhere to some basic rules (no random, crazy organisms, this is a place of learning dammit!) I have come up with a few animals and places already.

The Hall(s) of Ecology- This area has small "biodomes", unique biospheres that are self sustaining. Other ecological concepts, such as predator/prey relationships, are tought here.

There are also two species I literally dreamed up, and are over in the species factory (I didn't know what to do with them at the time). These are a flying monkey with wings made from stiff keratin "feathers" that operate much like a birds. This animal is used to teach convergent evolution and possible revenues of how flight evolves. The second is a bipedal rodent that is colored like a plover. It is used to demonstrate mimicry.

The only things keeping this from being fully fledged is my inexperience with these sorts of projects, as well as how preliminary a project it is. I have no idea how to handle canonizing other peoples work, or how strictly I would wield this power, or if I would even handle it at all or if other people would help me. Advice and criticism are welcomed with beverages and a ready made meal.
This is getting closer to release. It even has a name! (Busterfield Biological Museum, Zoological Park, and Botanical Garden) References! Anyway, where would I put it? Continuum?

Continuum or Cafe Cosmique, Cafe because it isn't actually spec, as you said it's more genetic modification.

Yeah, it will rather be an descendant of Therizinosaurus and it doesn't just sculpt and throw large snowballs.
It is also an animal that lives in small family groups.
It also has very long claws to defend and protect itself too.

Woolly Pterosaurs!
The wooly pterosaurs fill in the niches and roles very similar to those of the wooly mammoths (which don't exist in this world and universe) and they are also the last pterosaurs of the world and they only lived near the northern colder regions and parts of North America and Eurasia.
They are actually descendants of the giant Azhdarchids of the late cretaceous period.
They are mostly flightless but only one species is still capable of flight while some of the flightless species still have wings.
I will reveal all of the species of the Wooly Pterosaurs soon.
