Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Has anyone made a project with those worlds populated by one type of organism with the bat populating the world? Not saying I'll do it but that just occured to me
? I guess I have a terra formed world with only rat descendants.

So I take it no one has done bats yet

A Dyson Sphere that has 100 million times the surface area of Earth and settled by 100+ different biospheres of different planets...although that would be kind of crazy and probably would work better as an open collab or something due to the sheer scale of the project.

1: mass extinction wipes out large animals and birds take over

2: coldest time period in earths history, even whole oceans are frozen over.

3:almost all terrestrial life on earth is wiped out, leaving very odd sea creatures to take the niches.

4: takes place during the bird project, aliens come to earth and study the fossils of Holocene animals including humans. However they're very bad with earth biology.

I stayed up all of last night thinking of it, these are all in order of my story though, it goes 1, 4, 2, 3. I made a terrestrial predatory starfish.

"The Proceedings of the Department of Futurontology, Titor University."

In the not-so-distant future, scientists have invented a time machine that lets them make brief visits to the considerably-more-distant future, and this has given rise to the new scientific disciplines of future-history and futurontology (study of future life). Their work would deal with different time periods and perhaps also different, mutually contradictory, possible futures. (E.g. one where humans go extinct quickly, and one where they endure for millions of years.) This would be less of a coherent project and more a collection of one-off creature/ecosystem descriptions linked by a framing narrative. I probably won't actually write it.

I had an idea for a project called the "Menagerie". It'd describe dozens of "experiment" planets, terraformed worlds that had species introduced to see how they'd evolve. From orders of animals introduced to just a singular species, to introducing desert fauna and slowly changing the planet so they adapt for polar conditions etc. etc. This all stemmed from me thinking of a terraformed world where the creatures from Ark: Survival Evolved are introduced (the species they are based off, not the fake monstrosities that are in the game).

I put my ideas here so I won't forget, and if I ever "copy" someone's project idea.

Coexistence (name needs work): instead of non avian dinosaurs only surviving, smaller theropods survive too. As such mammals still take large herbivore route and the planet is filled with mammals being hunted by birds.

(I don't know what to call this one): alien space bats cause a strange divergence in earths history. Causing random animals to survive extinctions and yeah, I don't know.

Life Anew: almost all land life on earth goes extinct causing many of the ocean animals along with the surviving land animals to compete

Frost bitten Planet: the earths water level rises by a lot and then the earth goes into its coldest state ever, with whole oceans freezing

(I don't have a name and I'm quite unsure of what to name it): many many many planets in the galaxy are successfully colonized by humans and then many animals are put there, to preserve earths life forever. After human civilization finally dies out in a big war animals on every planet start evolving.

The Wonderful Alternate Universe: an alternate universe with many areas and things that bend the laws of physics like floating islands filled with earth animals from different times.

Mansion of Osmor: a single human mansion miraculously survives the test of time. It was one of the biggest structures ever made and many animals have taken advantage of this strange habitat

The Savior: a spaceship which is the biggest human object ever made has many animals on it and they learn to survive on here, occasionally stopping at planets to drop animals off and coming back to those planets to pick animals up and drop of more too.

The Urban Planet: a human colony planet was soon almost completely covered in city, with the animals there (basically all of the same ones from right now on earth give or take a few) adapt to it.

Nuclear: life on an apocalyptic earth must learn to adapt to this unnatural materials

The Next Era: after humans wipe their civilization out all life (even some of the endangered ones who were increasing in numbers) can move onto the next era in earths life.

The Next Era (Alternative): after humans wipe out many larger animals including themselves smaller animals must take the niches

Domestics and Descendants: newly domesticated and descendants of domestic animals are studied

Cryptic Zoo: in an alternate history where biology is one of the main human studies is bio and zoology there is a company devoted to keeping, breeding and studying cryptids

Yeah that's it, I was feeling very creative.

This isn't a spec project but I have no where else to share this. I just thought it was a neat idea.

21st Century History for Cambridge IGCSE®

21st Century History for Cambridge IGCSE is a fully comprehensive look at the major events in 21st century, it contains a total of fourteen subtopics, seven core topics and seven in depth studies. This is the perfect companion for anyone studying IGCSE History. Take a look at the effects of the War on Terror, the collapse of communism, the dawn of extraterrestrial colonization, and the changes that climate change had on the international politics of the planet.
at what point do things become history?

I mean, I remember the Real IRA.

I think the general rule of thumb is 20+ years. The point of the project is it's set in the early 22nd century, so everything in the 21st century has happened.
