| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! I think at the start of early Middle Jurassic would be better starting point for post humans since a mass extinction took place at the end of Triassic. |

Café Cosmique: Ultimate power- A gritty reboot of Power rangers, but not too gritty, some xenobiology and posthumans The menagerie- A world where a team is formed to combat the increase of crimes by Folklorish and Mythological creatures To Sum It Up- a bestseller in the sanctuary universe, It focuses on Rises and Falls, Trials of the century, and the worst of the worst | |

A planet terraformed too early to have any carbon history, and therefore no fossil fuels, populated by human slaves and farm crop plants. Eventually the slavers are destroyed in an offworld conflict and the slaves are left on a young planet with no way off and a load of corn and shit. EDIT: I'm probably never gonna use this ever. |

There are many projects that try to make "realistic" versions of creatures from myth, movies, games, and such, but I've never seen one on the biology of Chiron from Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Figuring out how its carbon-poor, nitrogen-rich ecology works would be interesting - or the cyclically sentient fungal net. There's the matter of the worms with telepathic powers, but that's hardly the most implausible thing seen in this kind of projects. (Actually, Octoaster's idea could sort of fit in there) |

Ok, I thought more about the slug world project, and here it is: Tundragaia is a moon a little bigger and much more dense than Ganymede. The forms of life were placed by "external forces." On land we have great gastropods, which in many forms live a very slow life, some reproduce like flowers-with pollen, others have symbiosis with green algae and are now sessile as plants ... Of the great terrestrial animals we have besides the gastropods, great velvet worms that are herbivorous and walk in pastures. In the small terrestrial ninchos we have flatworms. In the oceans there are sea cucumbers that walk in the bottom, hundreds of living waters, anemones and corals, besides great octopuses like whales. also has a sea of Amoeba, as in Darwin iv, being a colony of amebas. In this sea we have echinoderms on its surface, like giant sea urchins, stars of the sea and dollars of the sea, which feed on its surface. the plants are descended from red algae Edited by Cool_Hippo43, Mar 18 2018, 06:00 PM.

Okay, I thought of some kind of plant ... They are tubes of silicon that in its interior has a type of gel where are located small photosynthesizing oranisms, that make the photosynthesis for this plant. it has roots like normal plants to stock up on nutrients and stuff like that. I thought the methods of reproduction of these plants, some simpler repoduze by spores for example, others have things like tubes in their bases where a derivative of this gel is located, but with the seeds of that plant, soon the animals to hydrate themselves; liquid and carry the seeds away. Others develop "fruit" or bags with nourishing gel, which animals like sucker gel feeds. some may have leaves-like structures but no photosynthetic function, but only nutritive parts with seeds for the animals to eat |

I'm sure this has been tried before, but I think it would be a lot of fun to come up with more alien/realistic designs for some of the organisms from the Animorphs series. Maybe even come up with a good reason (or even any reason) for Andalites to have telepathy, and how it works in-universe. There are a lot of fun concepts in that series (even if it is incredibly soft scifi, bordering on fantasy) that I would like to take for a spin. |
