Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

The video mentioned that they kept the lifeforms in the trailers fairly Earth-like so people could identify them easily; there's going to be more variety in the actual game, and they apparently get more exotic as you get closer to the center of the galaxy.
Yeah I heard that thing about life getting more exotic closer to the centre. And to be fair, the trailers have shown some more exotic creatures such as big sand worms, elongated flying things with streamer tails, and strange bipeds with a single wide blue eye.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see how many of the encountered life forms will be Earth-like versus ones which will be more alien.

hopefully this is a long enough wait.

Don't necropost, dude. I made that mistake long ago.

However, I'm really excited for this game. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype.

It was recently delayed to June 2016, so we have a few months yet to wait.
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

I don't even really like this song that much but the title is pretty relatable sometimes, I guess.

That's a lot of illions. I'm gonna assume the planets are procedurally generated.
So that means all planets are the same as Illion?

I can't wait for this. It's like a great upgrade of Spore's space level. And it's huge!

A friend of mine is really afraid this turns out to be disapointing, but I prefer to think otherwise.

For a game that has a strong focus on seeing new things, giant rhinos and dinosaurs aren't going to be enough to blow my mind.
How about this, is this enough?

For some reason that article doesn't show me any text but just a bunch of dotted lines.

you may have too much stuff running (and or too many windows open in your computer), that's what happened to mine too; if you have a Disk Space Cleanup Manager, do that & then reopen the page.

It shows me the dotted lines regardless of whether or not any other programs are running or any windows other than the page itself is open.

it may just be the page is acting funny at the time you opened it. try again later, and if it happens again, just play with the scroll-down and scroll-up features.
