Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

The problem is, he's been spamming this idea for the past week.
I wasn't talking about the zebras this time. :(
I stopped doing that.
Zebras or not, it's really annoying that you clog up threads with quite frankly non-funny humor that's completely non-serious when people are trying to discuss serious possibilities.
And before you even think about it Tet, do not try to squeeze in a zebra joke after Jurassic Zebra replied

Lol
What's the deal with all this spam?
Projects and concepts that I have stewing around
Extended Pleistocene- An alternate future where man died out, and the megafauna would continue to thrive (may or may not include a bit about certain future sapients)
Inverted World- An alternate timeline where an asteroid hit during the Barremian, causing an extinction event before the Maastrichtian. Dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and notosuchians make it to the present, along with a host of other animals.
Badania- Alien planet that has life at a devonian stage of development, except it exists in the present day.
Ido- Alien world where hoppers (derived flightless ballonts) and mouthpart-legged beasts are prevalent.
Leto- Life on a moon orbiting a gas giant with an erratic orbit; experiences extremes of hot and cold.
The Park- ???
Deeper Impact- a world where the K-Pg extinction wipes out crocodilians, mammals, and birds; squamates, choristoderes, and turtles inherit the earth.
World of Equal Opportunity- alternate history where denisovans come across Beringia and interact with native fauna. Much of the Pleistocene fauna survives, and the modern humans that end up crossing into North America do not overhunt the existing animals. 10,000 years later, civilizations exist that are on par with European and Asian societies.
The Ditch- Nothing is what if seems..

Paleo Specs comes from the wiki, where short comments "Lol" would be completely acceptable. He's just not used to the forum ecosystem yet. Tet I can't speak for, however.

How about an aquatic bat?
How aquatic are we talking? Does it fly above the water and hunt fish like a seabird? Live on the shoreline and dive for food like a seal? Spend all of its time in the water?

The amphibious cat was discussed in a show about speculating how cat evolution might be taken in the future. I think maybe giant amphibians arising once again.
Theoritically anything is possible, one just needs to think hard enough. But what is theoretically possible may not be possible in practice.

Religion, rationality, and civilization are all lies, they are simply manifestations of basic instincts.

I know that show: Future Cats. The show speculated in a flooded world cats would develop webbed feet, a shaggy coat of straight locks of hair, somehow able to secrete an oily substance to keep them dry (there was a picture of one licking itself so maybe the oil is produced in the mouth. But I don't know if any cat would be capable of evolving that), short muscular limbs and short tails.

This show however wasn't the best for future evolution. It even showed what cats would survive if the world's continents formed a supercontinent again, not taking into account how long it would take and what cats would survive long enough for that event, if they even survive as a group at that point.

So not the best, but it was interesting.

I can see giant amphibians evolving again but probably not in the near future. Maybe 50 - 100 million years time, but after the 100 mil mark it seems more plausible. I'm just factoring this on competition from other animals like large fish, crocodiles, aquatic snakes and lizards and aquatic mammals.

I once had the idea of a Coelocanth descendant that was a ambush predator, not to dissimilar to a Crocodile.

A group of small arboreal chalicotheres that fill the niche of koalas and apes. I call them 'treehuggers'.

Modern tree sloths did evolve from giant ground forms, so yes.

I actually first thought them up in response to that challenge, but I'm unsure how to go about it, especially seeing as I don't know too much about chalicotheres.

Just do your research, I'd vote for them.
