| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. Genomorphs is an idea that I've been tossing around for a while. It probably has its origins in my NeoSaur SPORE creations (which, in turn, inspired the mildly successful XenoCorp and possibly Genome Corporation RP sites). The basic idea is a fairly standard "mon"-type game, but with a twist- the creatures are all designed by their masters. A Genomorph consists of two separate organisms; the first is a small, worm-like creature called a Neurite. Neurites serve as the "brain" of a Genomorph, and are placed inside larger organisms called Somas to form a whole Genomorph. Somas are taken from one of three templates (Brute, Stalker, or Striker) and modified using DNA from various organisms, ranging from bacteria to complex animals. Armed with such abilities, Genomorphs are pitted against one another in battles for fun and fame. Fortunately for the Genomorphs, Neurites can easily switch into a new Soma if their current one is destroyed and don't really feel pain the way normal creatures do. The Somas themselves may be totally destroyed, but they have no central nervous system to speak of and so it's no worse than killing a plant. So yeah, those are the basics. There's also some background story stuff and specific rules I've though of, but I'll just leave it here for now. TL;DR, think miniature biological mecha controlled by worms. Anything that is a direct result of your Genomorph's size/shape doesn't count as an ability or attack. |

"You shall perish, whatever you do! If you are taken with arms in your hands, death! If you beg for mercy, death! Whichever way you turn, right, left, back, forward, up, down, death! You are not merely outside the law, you are outside humanity. Neither age nor sex shall save you and yours. You shall die, but first you shall taste the agony of your wife, your sister, your sons and daughters, even those in the cradle! Before your eyes the wounded man shall be taken out of the ambulance and hacked with bayonets or knocked down with the butt end of a rifle. He shall be dragged living by his broken leg or bleeding arm and flung like a suffering, groaning bundle of refuse into the gutter. Death! Death! Death!" | |

A few things are wrong with yours. First of all, the bauplan is a specific animal, not a description of your Genomorph. Additionally, Komodo dragons use venom, not bacteria; and starfish don't regenerate quickly enough to be useful in combat. |

I wasn´t thinking in mid combat regeneration, but instead about, lest see how i can explain this. For example, lets say my Genomorph loses a leg during combat. Using the starfish regeneration, my Genomorph could have grown a new leg for the next combat. Of course, if you decide it´s not acceptable, i´ll change it.
Thats what National Geographic says. Again, if you do not approve, I´ll change infective for poison. As for the bauplan, it will be changed momentarilly. |

I don´t know which number it is, since it is the online version. However, after checking varied sites, the information continues to be constant, although in one site, there was a reference to possible venomous substances found in Komodo dragon salive, but nothing conclusive. However, as I stated before, I will change it the general opinion is that they are poisonous. |

Just to be sure, I checked an animal encyclopedia I have. It states that most Komodo dragon prey die due to the virulent bacteria that inhabit its mouth. |

Don't worry about between-battle stuff; Somas are usually just placed in regeneration chambers or just cloned for new fights. |

Haven't figured them out yet. Expect some major violence though; this is a fight to the "death", after all. |
