Now to begin you are a deity who feeds off of the worship of mortals, you need the mortals to recognise and revere you. The more people who do so, the more powerful you become and the greater the miracles you can perform. To begin with you must have a name, it must be a name which reflects the sort of being you desire to become. It must be a name which in time the mortals will recognise to either fear or love. Next you must enact the birth of your God/Goddess, this takes the form of a vision which is given to a chosen one. The contents of the vision is decided by you, please think carefully about what you are going to tell the human and also chose carefully who you are going to reveal yourself to. Once your prophet has been chosen and you have revealed yourself to him/her then the prophet will go about spreading your word, as this happens according to the contents of your vision myths of what powers you have begin to spread. As these myths are told your God gains the powers described in the myths: for instance if people claim you can roast people alive then you gain the power of spontaneous combustion. From then on you use your powers to influence the world around you and gain more followers, if you begin to lose followers then your powers will diminish. If a God is forgotten then a God will die, thus you must ensure they worship you in any of the following ways: Prayer- One of the most obvious, this is people invoking your name asking for help or just thanking you. This can also be done through song or prose. It is one of the weaker forms of worship although due to its ease it can often be done quite commonly and will allow your followers a much easier time blending into society. Sacrifice- The most powerful form of worship due to it involving the giving of life to assert your glories. Animal sacrifice is fairly common, and is not morally frowned upon although the poorer members of society may avoid your religion out of necessity. Human sacrifice is far more potent, although other Gods can attempt to usurp you due to its unpopularity. Sacrifice is easier to maintain in times of desparation among your human subjects. Construction- The second most powerful, this can range from the carving of idols to the building of huge temples. Your powers are increased around lands which are consecrated to you and you can have a much easier time in casting more permanant miracles. Fear- If people actively fear your God's name being spoken and tremble at the thought of you then you will grow in power. However this prevents you from gaining more benevolent powers, so while it maybe easy for the terrified humans to whisper about how you cause pillars of fire to rain down on the Earth they are far less likely to ever say anything nice about you. Thus cementing your role as malevolent being, you would have to work far harder if you had a change of heart... You are born into Ancient Greece, this is not the Greece of Earth, this is the Greece of mythology during the Dawn of the Age of Heroes. There are no great empires, no great marvels the land is torn up between various warring city states. You can join this game at any time, to join simply state the name of your God/Goddess, who your prophet is (his job, where in the world he/she lives and any other important details you want the GM to know) and what you are going to show him in the vision of you (are you going to give him a horrific nightmare of an evil God? Or are you going to tell him to go forth and spread your name? just think about what you would reveal to a human to make him want to respect you how are you going to persuade him that you exist). Note you do not have powers unless the GM (myself) says you do, otherwise you are limited to just appearing in dreams and visions. However as myths of you spread and the number of your followers increases you gain the ability to perform miracles pretty quickly. The first initial miracles may seem weak thus forcing you to be inventive to attain more followers. This game is very much you post an action and the GM will post what effects that action has upon the world. So let us begin, those interested please post the information requested above.

He is travelling across the mainland, selling his wares and stories he has heard from all the towns he's travelled to. He is about to go from Olynthus to Potidea when I show him a vision. I warn him of bandits hiding on the main route he was planning to take and tell him to take another path, which, while it is more out of the way and would be a longer journey, is much safer. I end by telling him it was the god Merchan who gave him this information.

Jeray- Merchan Spoiler: click to toggle Follower Count: 3 The merchant, who goes by the name of Ictaeon, for some reason heeds your warning and decides to travel the safer route. He curses himself for taking the longer route since by the time he gets there the ships will have already been filled with goods. However once he arrives at Potidea he quickly learns that the merchants had travelled the faster route had been ambushed and massacred by a large pack of bandits, suddenly the demand for his dyes goes up dramatically and Ictaeon makes a huge profit. As a sign of respect Ictaeon ties a purple silk band around his right wrist and never removes it, his sons do the same. Miracles- You can now grant premonitions to Ictaeon Nanotyranus- Epithus Spoiler: click to toggle Follower Count: 1 The woman names her son Epithyus meaning 'son of Epithus' out of gratitude. The baby seems to glow with a strange but comforting vitality. The woman it turns out is a whore who is hiding from the forces of Queen Pelagia of Chalkis, she is carrying the King's bastard son and only heir since the Queen is barren. However she is cornered at a village and a group of soldiers prepare to kill her and Epithyus she begs for your help again... Miracles- You can induce multiple more powerful visions to those around Epithyus Iamna- Eirene Spoiler: click to toggle Follower Count: 2 The womans faith in Eirene is so strong that a miracle really does happen. She obeys your commands and soon falls pregnant, the husband is delighted by this and offers the intestines of his kills as a sacrifice to you. The sheer stregnth of your two followers have given you a great miracle. Miracles- You can cause infertile women to become fertile Watcher- Orubashi Spoiler: click to toggle Follower Count: 12 Damjan was a coward, the arrow merely grazed him, he needed an excuse to avoid the next battle against the Greeks who were ravaging his ancestor's homelands in the mountains of Phrygia. However after his visions Damjan's eyes seemed as black as coals, the men say they saw him slay a hundred greeks brutally tearing them apart limb from limb. The battle was an astounding victory, when Damjan returned to camp he tore down the idols of his companions and told them of Orubashi. The men swore they saw claws swirling around in the darkness around them. The sheer fear that Damjan had felt during the visions had actually caused part of his soul to flee his body and become replaced by an aspect of your God. Miracles- Orubashi can assault those who fear him from the shadows, Damjan is a walking avatar of you this means he has superhuman stregnth and is harder to kill Fakey- Unknown Spoiler: click to toggle Follower Count: 1 The dead man's friend writes the message below the message you left: I AM SORRY KLEITOS PLEASE FORGIVE ME. It turns out the living man had married the widow of the dead man. The man interprets the the sign of the bee as what you desire and so leaves pots of honey at the grave of Kleitos to placate what he believes is an angered spirit. The fear and sacrifice gives you far greater power. Miracles- You can appear to those who believe in you as an apparition of their deceased. You cannot speak though and can only write. Vespitomb- Valtariberg Spoiler: click to toggle Follower Count: 20 The teacher, who had been suffering horrifically from leprosy begins repeating the word Valtariberg. Something about the word seems to cause people to stop in their tracks. The people ignore the man's leprosy and flock towards him offering him food and water, the people ask the man the meaning of this word. They eagerly await your response through 'The Teacher'.... Urufumarukai- Kai Spoiler: click to toggle Follower Count: 600 The daughter tells her father the King of Pylos about her vision. Pylos had just been sacked by the spartans and its first born sons had all been killed in response for the King not being able to pay tribute to them. The people are desparate and so after hearing of the vision immediately begin praying for the meteor to arrive, sheer dogmatism grips the city as the devastated mothers and fathers offer sacrifices of animals to the Kai. I teach him how to barter with skill surpassing any else in the world.( He was already a skilled barterer(?), so it's not a super powerful miracle). I also say to him that he should spread my word to those in taverns, to say that others can get just as rich as he was. I then tell him he will always be my favourite, and I will make sure is always the richest in the land if he follows me.
