Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

There's a new Spore-type game in the works. It's called Thrive, and it's conceptually like Spore, but developmentally like Minecraft. Here's a link to the forum: http://thrivegame.forum-free.ca/forum

There's been some progress; they have some 3D models of the cells and a few prototypes, and actual work has been done (unlike most of the time it's been around). The estimate for the microbe stage release date may actually be (somewhat) accurate.

Hey, it's what ~Sciocont told me. And, I tend to believe my boss. .3.

... Sometimes...

Anyway, most of the time when it seems they aren't doing anything, they are actually doing quite a bit. They're just figuring out formulae and equations to get things working realistically, and most of the actual programming is handled off-site in their skype group.

At least, as far as my experience.

I've got a bit of news, that I am a bit excited about, myself.

Thrive will most likely have a early beta(Meaning full Thrive, but just the cell stage) available sometime around christmas/hanukkah/kwanzaa, or whatever holiday you celebrate, this year.
