Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

THE FIRST AGE

Long ago, before the world existed, there was only darkness. Then the Mojang came. Godlike beings of immense power, they were lead by Notch, his brother Herobrine, and his protege, Jeb. The Mojang about building the world, filling it with mountains, forests, water, and other features. To help watch over their new world, the Mojang created a nigh-immortal and powerful race known as Creators. The Creators build a vast and diverse society, constructing wondrous monuments and cities. For millennia, there was a time of peace and prosperity. However, this was doomed to end.

Herobrine grew jealous of the attention his brother paid to Jeb. In order to gain power and reclaim his place at Notch's side, he began to employ dark powers, which corrupted and twisted his mind. Gathering traitorous Creators, he formed an army and attacked the followers of the other Mojang. A war began, a war that would rage for centuries. The Creators, who had previously regenerated if they were killed, were slaughtered so many times that they began to die permanently, only to rise again as undead creatures resurrected by Herobrine's necromantic power. The Mojang realized that neither side could win the war, and Notch decided to do the unthinkable. Stripping Herobrine of most of his power, Notch locked both him and his followers in the End, a realm of eternal darkness. The dark energies of the End pushed Herobrine further into madness, and also transformed his followers into vicious, inhuman monsters. Thus, Herobrine's threat was ended.

However, the Mojang's victory was not without its cost. The Creators had been all but wiped out, and those few that survived had lost much of their power. Notch, ashamed of what he had been forced to do, withdrew from the world, leaving Jeb to watch over it. Thus ended the First Age, as the once-great creations of the Creators quietly crumbled into dust.

THE SECOND AGE

The Creators weren't the only race created by the Mojang. There were many others, including the Pigmen, an intelligent and adaptable people with an aptitude for invention. Shortly after the end of the Great War, the Pigmen established a powerful empire, using both knowledge gained from the Creators and their own innovations. This empire was extremely advanced both technologically and mystically; soon, it had spread across most of the known world, rivaling even that of the Creators. It was an age of exploration and change, as the Pigmen grew ever more advanced and widespread.

The Pigmen's thirst for knowledge proved to be their undoing. They discovered an ancient and long-forgotten secret: inter-dimensional travel. Soon, they had established colonies in the Nether and other dimensions, building massive fortresses and castles. However, as they explored the Nether, they unwittingly unleashed a plague, created during the Great War as a weapon. The plague spread like wildfire, wiping out the entire empire in a matter of years. The mystical energies on the Nether prevented those Pigmen within it from dying, but the plague still ate away at their bodies, transforming them into undead monsters. As quickly as it had risen, the empire of the Pigmen fell.

This is an interesting spin on minecraft. I like how you semi-logically explain the things in the end and the zombie pigmen. Please write more.

THE THIRD AGE

With the extinction of the Pigmen, the Third Age began, the age in which we live. As of yet, no new empires have appeared, only small kingdoms. The world has begun to heal from the ravages of the past; evidence of the Creators and the Pigmen has all but vanished. For the first time in millenia, the world is at peace.

The inhabitants of the Third Age are very different from those of the past. There are two major races now: Testificates and humans. Humans are the descendants of the Creators who lost their powers at the end of the Great War; they are an adaptable and hardy race. Testificates are closely related to humans and Creators, although they have a few physical differences. They are less aggressive than humans, and have built a series of long-lived and prosperous kingdoms, although most of them live in small, isolated villages.

The future of the world is uncertain. Although peace reigns for now, the shadow of the Great War still looms over everything. The terrible forces involved in that conflict aren't gone, just locked away. There are those who would see them released again. I hope that, for both our sake and the sake of the world, they never succeed.
