| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. Since the reboot for Enter the Pilot failed because it was 'too different', even though there was a good reason for that. SPOILER: The big reveal was that the entire world was a program inside one of the cores. It would have continued with the characters escaping into 'the real world' and wreaking havoc several years after the original RP. So now for one RP I've had on my mind for a long time. A post-apocalypse fantasy, like a cross between The Legend of Zelda and Fallout. Time for some backstory. The Cold War had hit sub-zero temperatures. Nukes were fired, and soon, both Eastern North America and the Soviet Block had become nuclear wastelands. Further fighting in the form of conventional warfare had reduced almost everything to ashes. Another barrage of a new biological agent from the Americans, alongside the traditional nukes of the Soviets, had ended World War III, at the cost of modern civilization. Falling into ruin, society fell back to the Dark Ages, with the few people who knew how to produce the modern implements of the 21st Century. These were the mysterious Phenac, an order who secretly controlled the world before dying off at the turn of the 22nd Century. Now their deep underground shelters are used for various purposes. To some, they are vast underground cities. For others, they are temples. The advances made during the war also produced a mighty army of robotic drones capable of adapting. The subjugate humans in the areas where they occur, and are constantly seeking expansion. The biological agent released during the war mutated several humans, giving rise to magic. Humanity itself is reduced to several tribes, clans, and a few kingdoms. Rogues and romaing nomads are also common, especially in the stone forests of the northeastern Ewyok Deathlands, a place filled with fire and home to many bandit tribes. So, what do you guys think? |

Sounds promising. I'll need a map or location, and clarification on how the magic works, or at least it's properties. I assume we are playing as individual people? I've been reading a lot about the Knights Hospitaller, and the Nights Watch, and the Brotherhood of Steel. Any monastic orders to join? It's called the Cold War because their was very little direct fighting. When it gets messy it's usually referred to as turning hot. Google "Cold War turned hot" Though when relations improved it was often refereed to as a "thaw". English is a tricky tongue. |

Magic works like your generic fantasy. Amulets, wands, bluh bluh bluh. There is one, called the Monkey Cult in the area formerly known as China. The world is basically the same, save for minor differences because of the melt. I'm going by a series of classroom video tapes that refer to the Cold War as becoming colder when on the brink of war. And these are like from the Nineties. |

Cooling of relations is a term generally used when relations get worse, it's always called going hot when the USSR and NATO fight. |

If I sound rude while critiquing, I apologize in hindsight! "To those like the misguided; look at the story of Man, and come to your senses! It is not the destination, but the trip that matters.
