I got bored on day and imagine what if the SSU2 were in the Hoenn region? Well here's what resulted. It's going to be a fun ride. But don't you dare complain about the roles your character gets put in. I make the rules here. NOTICE: This is an alternate universe, which means some people retain their powers, some get turned into Pokémon, and others lose them all together. People who are related in the Main Universe(Borys and Viktor) might not be related here. Just a warning. Budōtoko Midoraki bounced around in the back of the moving truck. He insisted to his parents that he'd like to stay here in the back, so that when he arrived in Littleroot Town he'd get a big surprise. What he did know, is that being sixteen, he was finally old enough to get a starter Pokémon and go out and explore. He was familiar with the pamphlets back in his hometown of Azalea, Johto. They mentioned Professor Miller offering Totodile, Cyndaquil, and Chikorita. But he was far more excited by the prospect of starting his journey somewhere entirely new to him. The only thing he did know, was that his video conference with Professor Griffit was scheduled to begin half an hour ago, if the red glow coming from his tablet was anything to go by. As the light grew brighter, Doto could see a man with a doughboy helmet and olive drab lab coat tapping the camera. "'Ello? Is this thing on?" Doto nodded. "Oh, hi there! Sorry to keep you waiting!" The professor sat down in his chair and crossed his hand behind his head in order to relax. He grinned apologetically, allowing any viewers to see his yellow teeth. A bunch of cigars in his pocket were clearly the cause. "Welcome to the region of Hoenn! As you know, my name is Griffit. But everyone here in Littleroot just calls me the Pokémon Professor." Professor Griffit pulled a small red and white ball, about twice the size of a ping-pong ball. It was clearly metal, scratches in the red and white paint showing it was pretty old. Griffit pressed a small button on the front of the ball and a red beam of light materialized into the form of a small, blue bat. It lacked eyes, but had a gaping maw. Doto shivered, getting the feeling he'd be seeing swarms of these. "This is what we call a 'Pokémon'. I'm sure you already know this, but I have to do what the transcript says." Griffit cleared his throat and continued. "The world is widely inhabited by these creatures. Even you and I can be considered Pokémon. Scientists are just arguing about why we can't be captured and what our typing is. But back on topic. We live alongside the other Pokémon, and some people keep them as pets. Others use their Pokémon to help with work." Griffit leaned in with a smug grin. "And others-" He pointed at Doto. "-just want to engage in friendly battles." "But despite our closeness, we don't know everything about Pokémon. I'm willing to admit that there are things we have yet to figure out. Hell, half the time we're giving a bullshit answer because we don't even have a means to get one." Doto looked surprised at the professors casual use of swears. "But, that's why I got this job. I like unraveling mysteries and getting rid of bullshit. I guess you could say I like the challenge. So, enough of my banter." Griffit leaned in to the screen, squinting. "It's pretty damn dark in there. I can barely see your face. Are you a boy? Or are you a girl?" Doto was glad to finally begin speaking. "A boy, professor." "And your name, lad? I can't rightly just call you 'lad'." "Budōtoko Midoraki. I prefer to go by Doto, though." Griffit's expression was one of epiphany. "You're the boy in the Midoraki family moving in next door? Your father and I are good friends! I can't wait to meet you!" The professor was about to turn off the camera, but someone just off of the screen stopped him. "Oh, right! I'm supposed to babble a bit more. Are you ready, Doto? Your very own adventure is about to unfold! Blah blah, give 'em hell! Drop by my lab!" The light on the tablet cut out as the call ended. The moving truck jerked to a halt as it pulled up in front on the new house. Doto was excited as the door slid up and the ramp dropped away. He blinked as his eyes adjusted to the light. The first thing he saw was a giant sloth-like Pokémon. It had white fur and huge arms. The fur had several red stripes along the back, making its coat seem blood-stained. It jumped up and took hold of some boxes, and began carrying them out and into the building to the side. "Doto! Come here!" A feminine voice called out and brought Doto's attention away from the Pokémon. "Yeah, Mom?" "Come look at your new room!" Doto shot out of the moving truck faster than the eye could see. Having lived in a small house in Johto, where everyone slept in the same room, it was an exciting prospect to have a room for himself. He nearly slammed into a wall with how fast he was running, because the law of inertia decided to be a bitch. "Watch it, Doto. Your new room is up those stairs. The Vigoroth already set your room up. I'm surprised how fast these Hoenn Pokémon can move." Doto followed the pointed finger. When he got to the stairwell, he didn't attempt to climb them. He merely looked up at the ledge overhead. A vine shot out and wrapped around the hand-rail, pulling him up. What he saw behind the door was amazing. His room was exactly how he'd imagined it would be if he'd ever gotten one. In one corner sat a bed with green-blue sheets. Above it was an unset clock with a Poké Ball motif. On the other side of the room was a rug sitting in front of a television. Hooked up to it was an orange Gamecube. The rest of it was rather barren, but he could see that the room was clearly intended for a trainer. Looking to the clock, he quickly set it with the vine he'd entered the room with and turned on his Gamecube. It was time for fun. About an hour passed, and the sounds of the Vigoroth moving furniture faded away. Doto looked to his tablet and found a new item on the menu. "Item Storage, huh?" He poked it with a vine and it cut to a new menu. As the short tutorial mentioned, it was for use by new Pokémon trainers in order to keep the items they got. As a proverbial pillow-mint, they provided a free potion. "Potion. This medicine is applied by gently squeezing trigger in order to cover wound in mist. Recyle bottle after emptying. Hmm. Sounds helpful." "Doto! Come quickly! Your father is on TV!" Doto rushed to the stairwell and swung down via a pair of vines. He found the couch easily, but what he saw on the TV wasn't his father. "Aww, ya missed it. Well, I suppose now is a better time than ever to introduce yourselves to the neighbors. They have a girl your age you know. She's very pretty." "Moooom!" Doto blushed bright red and scowled. His mother was always doing this. Telling him he needed a girlfriend, even though he was more interested in books. "You're so easy to mess with. Now get moving." Doto walked to the door with frown on his face. "And put away those vines! You're gonna trip one them one of these days." "Yes, Mom." Doto retracted the vines into his back and exited the house, leaving his mother behind to see the new town. Littleroot was smaller than he expected. It could barely even be called a town. Azalea was bigger than this, and that was rural Johto. It might as well be called Littleroot Village. The walk to the house next door took a few minutes, rather than a few seconds like he'd expected. The house was nearly identical to his, save that it looked like it had been mirrored. Doto knocked and a woman with dark brown hair answered. "Oh! You must be the boy who just moved in! Our daughter is just upstairs if you want to meet her." Her smile was warm and kindly. Not like the somewhat manic grin of her husband. "Thank you very much, Mrs. Griffit." Mrs. Griffit stepped to the side to allow Doto entry. He looked for the stairs and found them to be in pretty much the same place. Doto, wanting to get up the stairs faster, but not wanting to be heard and get found out as a human that could learn moves, traveled up the stairs using his vines to pull himself forward quietly. As he entered the room up top, he failed to remember his vines were still extended. Looking at the room, it was nearly identical to his. Similar clock, similar Gamecube, similar rug. Well, the rug was almost the same. Upon it sat a Poké Ball. It was clearly newer than the one Professor Griffit had used in his explanation. Not to mention that rather than a red and white, it was yellowish-green and white. Doto, ever curious, used a vine to grip the ball. Engraved in the metal was a name, but before Doto could make it out, a sharp pain shot through the back of his head. As he fell forward, the ball fell onto the rug and rolled away, under the bed in the room. As his eyes stopped rolling about, he could see straight ahead. And right within his field of view was the dripping wet form of a girl, crouched down to try and get the ball out from under the bed. Doto noticed one thing, and one thing only. The towel only covered the front of her body. Pushing himself up with his vines, he made a dash for the door. "Sosorrydidn'tmeantowalkinonyoupleasedon'tkillme!" Doto had one foot out the door when he felt a tug on his ear. "Oh no you don't, vine boy! You're going to get my Poké Ball for me and tell me why you're here!" She pulled Doto across the room and threw him to the floor. "Ow..." "Get going! I don't have all day! Daddy needs my help with field research, but I can't help if you don't get my Pokémon for me!" Doto complied, reaching under the bed with a vine and gripping the ball. He pulled it out and brought it up to the girl's height. As he stood, he could feel the girl poking the vine. "So you're one of those PokéPeople?" "Yeah... My mom doesn't want anyone to find out because she's worried about me getting swarmed by Bug Pokémon the moment I leave the house." Doto rubbed his head as he turned, only to drop backwards onto the bed. "Holy hell you get dressed fast!" "I get that a lot." The girl pulled Doto up into a standing position. "I'm Suzy Griffit. Nice to meet you." Using the hand she'd grabbed, she shook. "Doto, Doto Midoraki." Suzy nodded. "Well Doto, I've got to get going to meet my dad. See you around!" "Wait, could you take me with you? He's supposed to be giving me my Trainer Card so I can begin my journey." "Sure. But you'd better keep up." Suzy dashed out the door at high speeds. Doto looked to her windows and opened them with his vines and jumped out. He closed the window as he landed, allowing him to beat Suzy outside. He watched the door and laughed at the look of surprise on Suzy's face as she opened it. "It's not funny!" Doto's laughter was cut short by a pebble hitting him right on the forehead. "He should be up the road." Suzy pointed to the dirt path that separated the two houses. It led past a line of trees and into a small grassland. The two teenagers were about to walk calmly up the road, but shouts of help forced them to dash forward, into the tall grass. Alrighty. So next chapter has the first battle. I'm going to be doing a fun thing with this. Readers get to choose for Doto when they come up. Here's the first choice. Which starter Pokémon will Doto get? Treecko? ![]() Torchic? ![]() Or Mudkip?

Henry you dick! Mr. Hands "Am I boring? Depends, do you like watching documentaries about 19th and 18th century warfare, having complicated feelings about bismark and crying over the film of winston churchill putting flowers on FDR's grave. If so then I'm so fucking boring. " | |

Yes. And Ikabod will be badass. The character he's being cast as, Professor Birch? Total badass. Researches the breeding habits of hyenas that could kill him with lasers. He does not take shit from anyone. |

I was going to vote for Torchic anyway. I like Torchic, it could be called Moegami, and you could make many jokes about it setting him on fire. |

Dial, would you mind voting? I'll give you a hint at what each one evolves into. Treecko: Dilophosaur with a conifer for a tail and blade on its arms. Torchic: Giant raptorial terror bird that kills via kicking. Kinda like a secretary bird with fire. Mudkip: Giant predatory amphibian capable of creating deadly earthquakes and floods. |

PYSCHOPATHIC MUDKIP. Its evolution can do ALL the torture. It can bite you, and tear you limb from limb, and crush you in rock, and drown you, and drown you in mud, and punch through you with its fist, and punch through you with a jet of high-pressure water, and slowly suffocate you by crushing your ribcage.... |
