Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Parasky, did you get your information about Avaaz being corrupt from here? http://verbo.se/dont-sign-avaazorg-petitions . It sounds to me like someone's hacking their site, not that they're distributing email addresses.
No, I got it from the fact that I used Avaaz for a long time and it wasn't until after I did that my inbox get literal thousands of spam messages everyday.
We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.

"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

Okay, here is how the sterile earth works; for a while, we eat the carcasses/dead plants, until there are none left, we become cannibals, and humanity goes extinct.

I can't tell if this guy is trolling or really doesn't think things through.

We've been eating dead plants and animals since before we started this whole "walking upright" crazy you kids love so much.

Plants regrow and animals reproduce.

We tend to be damaging to ecosystems, but we don't really DESTROY them. Unless there's some sort of Earth-shattering kaboom, I doubt that we could sterilize the planet even if we tried.

To be fair, some ecosystems really are that fragile that they can be destroyed. But most of those rely on large angiosperms anyway.

Yeah, but not by eating everything.

I don't like shrews or dock leaves, and I can't stand oak!

Now you might as well be babbling incoherently. Why are humans going to eat every single "carcass/dead plant" on the planet, and then themselves, and then go extinct? It sounds like a theory made up in the mind of a 5 year old, not something that could actually happen.

Pretty sure I already eat dead plants and animal carcasses. If I ate a live cow I think I would have a lot of people very angry with me.

Nowhere did I call miocenemadness a kid. I said what he was saying sounded like it came out of the mind of a 5 year old. You can be 50 and say things that sound like they came out of the mind of a 5 year old.

You can also say anything on the internet and it won't be considered sarcastic unless you're very specific that it's sarcasm, negating the point of it in the first place, making me wonder why I bother.

Humans won't eat everything until their are only humans left because we can't eat everything. Case in point, the Irish Potato famine. Seaweed, nettles, anything remotely edible was eaten, but people turned to eating the dead before they started eating the trees and grasses, and today Ireland is as lush and full of life as it was before the famine, though with less people even today.
