Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

A Very Busy Galaxy Started out as the ultimate cross over between sci-fi universes. And was an rp for a short amount of time.

Here is an overview of the main powers of the galaxy:

There are thousands of other more minor powers in this galaxy which I shall go into if you guys are interested? Any alien species suggestions I will try to include although a wikipedia article would help :) Also would you guys want to restart the rp?

Okay I can accept if a bunch of them set themselves up in Ancient Egypt as Gods. Perhaps humans were an ideal host for them and eventually buggered off, this could be during the 'Dark Ages' era?

But after the collapse of the Pharoahs they evacuated leaving the rest of human history unaltered.

That's more or less happens, though it's not just Egyptian gods. Yu semi-mythical Emperor of China and Amaterasu is a sun goddess who the Japanese Imperial Family is supposedly descended from.

Humans are much more dexterousness, intelligent and just fun for them to live in.

Indeed they are, I would rather them stick to Egypt. Perhaps they recognised that they couldn't enslave the whole of mankind since they didn't have the numbers and the fact that organised human civilizations were actually quite a threat. They took a tithe of the human population and left, they could more easily control their herds on other worlds?

More or less, they grabbed some humans and took them to supplement the ones left behind by the Ancients. In Stargate the Asgard stopped them coming back with the Protected Planets Treaty, but you probably don't want to add yet another faction.

So the history of the Galaxy is something like this?

High Age: The Forerunner emerge, followed by the Eldar, Ancients and Protheans. The Protheans fight the Forerunners about 50,000 years ago and in the process the Eldar as pushed back to their Craftworlds and the Ancients disappear.
Dark Age: The Covenant, Gou'uld and Asari civilizations first rise but for the most part the Galaxy is a quiet place.
Modern Age: The younger races and civilizations emerge

Meanwhile the Predators are trolling away in the background throughout.

Morning War would be Dark Age?
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

Humans and Ancients are related IIRC.

That only happened in the late 19th century. The Dark Age was thousands of years ago.

You guys still aren't making sense, I don't watch Stargate. I've tried to, but its not really my cuppa'. But could you perhaps explain, as right now I love how the Gou'uld fit in so including more would be interesting.

The Ancients are human, sort of. The evolved on earth and had their own civilization while we were still in the stone age. They are probably another species or subspecies though.

Im going to say no to the Ancients, sorry lamna. They wouldn't fit at all in this. Too many humans running round already ;) need more aliens! Thats why I would like to find out how the Asgard would fit in?

Holben- Im not sure, theres so little about them. Although Prometheus seems like it will unveil the mystery behind them. What were you thinking?

Same as you, I guess. We could always have ruins of theirs found later if it fits

The Asgard are a very old race, they used to be more like humans, but now they reproduce by cloning and downloading their memories into new bodies. This has weakened them considerably and now they are a dying race. They are extremely technologically advanced race, so their warships generally have one crewmember.

They come from the Ida Galaxy and were contemporaries and allies of the Ancients, and fought the Goa'uld to protect humanity after the Ancients left. They managed to get a treaty with the Goa'uld so they would leave a few planets alone, including earth, which the Asgard care for, also by posing as gods, mostly Norse ones.

The dying Asgard like humanity a lot, and see great potential in them. I suppose the Ancients could be replaced with the Forerunner. The Covenant stole their tech from the Forerunners and it's broadly similar to Goa'uld stuff (plasma guns, shields, transporter doodads). And the Forerunners seem to have had some interest in earth in Halo.

In Stargate they are being screwed by the Replicators, so they would be a good species to have the Reapers, Tyranids, or whatever hit the Asgard first.
Here is a quick video and some pictures of their ships.

And here is a video of the Goa'uld from an alternate reality attacking earth. Should give you a good idea of what they are and what they have.
