| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! I like to believe most politicians are people. Sure some, maybe most are motivated by greed and lust for power. But you don't get that by being stupid, this risk of something like this being exposed does not seem worth it. Pharmaceutical companies do make a lot of money, but they also spend a huge amount on research. They are hardly giants of industry, combine the top ten pharmaceutical companies by revenue and they are about the same as Wal-Mart. Big, but hardly an East India Company. I don't think they have wallets deep enough to shut up all the people round the world that they would need to for this to work. It's been around for more than half a century from Singapore to Chile. So many people would have to be involved I frankly don't think it is workable. Because toothpaste is full of detergents and bleaches, not something you want to swallow, and the reason they make special toothpastes for children. |

yeah, one of the main reasons i don't believe in conspiracies is due to the severe lack of leakage. Take, for example, wikileaks. Everybody freaked out about the government having secrets, but they were all really small and stupid secrets that weren't even really secrets, like the fact that we thought Gaddafi was stupid. Sure, other countries got pissed at us for insulting them, but there wasn't really anything about the government killing its own people with jet contrails, water, or controlled demolitions. Unless... wikileaks was a government conspiracy set up to make people think that... No but seriously. It's good that people are suspicious of their own government, and they should be, because otherwise we couldn't know if such things were or were not happening, but the evidence I've seen seems to suggest that the government isn't trying to harm its civilians. That isn't to say they aren't doing it inadvertendly, i don't know, maybe flouride is poisonous, I personally haven't looked into it. However, I don't think the government is sitting behind its desk, strumming its fingers together maliciously while chuckling over the pain of its constituents. |

About 90% of the problem with conspiracies is that they are secrets... In my other persona, the biker world, we have a saying "three can keep a secret if two are dead"... Now imagine trying to keep something as dire as poisoning whole cities of people, managed by a whole government agency, a secret? It's the same with coppers (policeman cunstables). When there's only two or three, it's easy for them to plant evidence or steal money or drugs off "villains". But when there's a whole SWAT team and 10 detectives and 5 forensic investigators - odds are that at least two or three of them will have a conscience (I've had many dealings with cops, and there aren't many who do have a conscience, they're mostly just thuggish bullies), and blow the whistle if something dishonest or conspiratorial is going on. |

Injury from untrained injections, school nurses' skill varies. And people that are allergic to vaccines and don't know it. Modern vaccine practices are timed as best as doctors can tell. Younger is unlikely to set, older is unlikely to be as effective. Mercury has been out of the vaccines for 15 years, it used stable mercury, and doses that couldn't harm a small vole. Ibogain is a better hallucinogen than a painkiller, it's under research to deal with that. Rx companies don't cut favors to congress or anyone that's elected, complain to the FDA; they generally have former and future employees working there. A duke needs his township to not be sick or he will get dead. We need fluoride to live. Fluoride deficiency is more common than fluoride poisoning even with fluoridated water if you exclude labs. Dangerous levels of fluoride don't make people sick, they make people sterile, then clearly poisoned, then dead. Contrary to what you think those companies would take eachother down given half a chance. Cost hikes are all that they need to be rich. And it's far harder to get in trouble for. |

Hurrah the smart people are helping. In other news, we need and award for going off topic. We started out with a chap talking about a silly game he plays with his uncle and we got to how dangerous fluoride is. (Not very) |

Star Wars is boring till you get to the Eewoks, then we can all moon over their cute fluffiness. :3 actually, the only movie I've ever watched that I've hated was Act of Valor. Worst hour and a half I've ever had. it was litterally "oh, sorry, the terrorist is actually over here" three times in a row, and the only named characters who died all died within the last 10 minutes. I only judge movies if they're docs and supposed to be true, as its especially sad seeing docs like TFIW and seeing those impossible things like Toratons and Megasquid. |

The Hutts aren't native to tatooine. They come from a pretty swampy world. Also, I like star wars, but mainly because the movies are entertaining. They don't really need to be that original to do that. For good science fiction, I prefer Babylon 5 to just about everything else out there, mainly because it, for the most part, portrays realistic characters, realistic events, and realistic situations, making the need for suspension of disbelief very, very minimal. None of the characters and forces are completely good or fully evil (pt in a spoiler for those who haven't seen B5 yet); Spoiler: click to toggle

Lol. ^^ I'm kinda actually hoping he's just a troll and/or a kid. Cause the alternative to this is that he's a really pathetic adult with nothing better to do than sit in front of a computer and whine, hoping to get attention from people. Considering the ridiculous length this thread has grown to, he has got said attention.

Yeah I watched that movie with a friend... It was really stupid, and isn't the whole alien (partly robotic?) invasion a little bit cliche? There are lots of those kinds now a days. |
