| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! So, what are everyone's thoughts on next year? What are you looking forward to? Next spring will see Mass Effect 3, A Rising Thunder, Iron Sky, a new season of Game of Thrones and the DVD release of season one. Throw in my trip to America and things are looking up for next year. |

In no particular order, I am looking forward to... Doctor Who Season 7 The new Rush album Clockwork Angels December 21 (so I can laugh) New fossils to the collection Jurassic Park IV (yes, they say it's coming in 2013, but you never know if they'll finish early) |

Finish a film early? I'm holding out more hope for peace on earth. The second rebooted Star Trek is coming out this summer as well. After Iron Sky I think the Hobbit is the film I'm looking forward to the most. I always go all fantasy in Winter, so that might change. The Natural History Museum? |

I practically nerdgasmed when I saw the trailer for The Hobbit, so I'm definitely seeing that. Heck, probably going to the midnight premiere with my mates (yes, I decided to adopt some British slang. Might visit there when I graduate college). Heck, I'll probably do the same with the new Batman and Star Trek movies. Also, I am looking forward to December 21, 2012. I've got a rocking speaker system set up to play "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" all day and party it up. ![]() Also looking forward to going to college. Not sure where yet, but money is definitely going to be a HUGE factor considering I've got little to no money saved up. On the same note, looking forward to graduating high school. I've loved practically every minute of high school, even though people (including my friends) consider me the awkward, terrible-pun-slinging, biology-nerd band geek but I'm ready to move on to the next stage. And get a career in, hopefully, the pathology field (medical pathologist of course; not forensic). |

I forgot about Batman, I'll have to go see it with Bryn. We're always claiming we're batman to each other, in gravelly voices. But Fakey, your friends don't like your topics and don't wanna post anymore. |

The Hobbit, ME3, and the DVD of Game of Thrones, because it is very good. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home I'm really looking forward to the next Game of Thrones, but it's a bit annoying. You want to speculate about what's going to happen, but there are lots of people who already know exactly what's going to happen. Sure the TV show will change the odd detail, merge a few minor characters, but the book people will either ruin any discussion, or can't join in. |
