Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Let me just say that this is one more step to getting a game where we have Pokemon in real life. Also, I love the idea of conquering Japan atop my Magikarp.

That's... Stupid. It ruins both games.
We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.

"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

Uh no. You haven't even played it. For all we know it could be a similar premise as Nobunaga's Ambition, only with Pokemon as the war force.

Which may mean it takes place in the Pokemon world's past.

... !

If it takes place in the past, and it's about conquering Japan, and Pokemon are the main infantry, then does that mean all our sepuclation about Pokemon being used as war machinces was CORRECT? Holy balls we're frakin' geniuses.

Also, the music sounds bitchin'.

That's what I thought, but then I saw mewtwo, so it couldn't take place in the past, or at least not in the canon timeline.

Celebi.

Mind = blown

Two of my favorite things? time travel-induced alternate universes and pokemon. As much as I usually hate crossovers (and the recent generations), I think I'm going to need to get this game. Why? because another of my favorite things are gritty reboots, and this seems to be the grittiest pokemon will get.

One of the things I did like about the recent game was how serious it got, though I was kind of pissed at the seemingly innumerous long cutscenes. Just because somethings serious and dark doesn't mean I need to sit back and listen to a bunch of hippies complain about pokemon rights nonstop. It also seemed like you got in a compulsory trainer battle every five seconds. Pokemon should give you a lot of freedom, it's gameplay is very restrictive and repetitive by nature, so your ability to wander without having to fight all the time should be maintained in order to keep things lively. Also, if you're fighting all the time, you sort of lose the sense of the world. If this nobunaga thing seems the same then in that regard then I might not get it.

I was refering to the fact that in the Orre games, Cipher is incredibly corrupt. Like, buisnessman level corrupt.

I loved Black and White because they were meant to remind you of the amlost inescapable battles of RGBY. Granted here, the villains are literally throwing minions at you, but for the most part, you're able to avoid most battles. You just suck at avoiding battles.

I do art sometimes.

Projects:
Amammalia: A strange place where mammals didn't make it and the land is, once again, dominated by archosaurs.

Oceanus: An endless sea dotted with islands, reefs, and black holes. Literally endless, literal black holes.

Don't you hate when a pokemon has fantastic stats and whatnot, but looks really stupid? That's the problem I have with electross, it's my favorite type, it has levitate, making its only weakness moot, over 500 bst, but looks r-e-t-a-r-d-e-d.

With that in mind I'd say my favorite pokemon might have to be ampharos. It looks cool and it's pretty strong.

I bet this'll be the first Pokemon game to get a T rating in the US.

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.
