I had my first complete dream recently. Most of my dreams are "shattered".

It took place in something that looked like an Egyptian temple, with massive sandstone pillars and dark doorways reaching up to a distant roof. Everything was very dark though, lighted only by torches. A small group of men, armed with spears, short swords, oval shields and leather armour. I vaguely remember them setting up a kind of camp. I was viewing them third person but centred around one person who looked vaguely like me.
Then it started getting worrying. Some of the soldiers deeper in the temple started panicking and shouting then I heard music which really scared me. ""The Bridge of Khazad-Dum"
A terrible beast came out of the depths. It towered over us all, maybe 8m. It had a massive triangular head with no facial features apart from its hard edges, digitigrade legs and massive arms. It seemed somewhat robotic but I knew somehow it was not a robot. It also had vestigial wings on its back. The spaces in its body glowed a dark red, like embers. In its left hand it held some kind of sword and in its left it held a massive glowing torch, of embers, not of fire.
Then it began hunting down the soldiers. Where ever it walked the lights went out, and it was only somewhat visible. My guy was flitting to and from the pillars until he got a moment to escape, though I never found out what happened.

Turns out though that it is a pretty nice guy to his own people. He gives history lessons to orks.
"You shall perish, whatever you do! If you are taken with arms in your hands, death! If you beg for mercy, death! Whichever way you turn, right, left, back, forward, up, down, death! You are not merely outside the law, you are outside humanity. Neither age nor sex shall save you and yours. You shall die, but first you shall taste the agony of your wife, your sister, your sons and daughters, even those in the cradle! Before your eyes the wounded man shall be taken out of the ambulance and hacked with bayonets or knocked down with the butt end of a rifle. He shall be dragged living by his broken leg or bleeding arm and flung like a suffering, groaning bundle of refuse into the gutter. Death! Death! Death!"

In the dream that I had last night, there were 5 birds that looked like cardinals. Only they were the size of school busses. As I went out to see them, the leader of the flock of birds uttered a giant honk and flew away, followed by the rest of it's flock. The setting was a giant swampy woodland.

Projects and concepts that I have stewing around
Extended Pleistocene- An alternate future where man died out, and the megafauna would continue to thrive (may or may not include a bit about certain future sapients)
Inverted World- An alternate timeline where an asteroid hit during the Barremian, causing an extinction event before the Maastrichtian. Dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and notosuchians make it to the present, along with a host of other animals.
Badania- Alien planet that has life at a devonian stage of development, except it exists in the present day.
Ido- Alien world where hoppers (derived flightless ballonts) and mouthpart-legged beasts are prevalent.
Leto- Life on a moon orbiting a gas giant with an erratic orbit; experiences extremes of hot and cold.
The Park- ???
Deeper Impact- a world where the K-Pg extinction wipes out crocodilians, mammals, and birds; squamates, choristoderes, and turtles inherit the earth.
World of Equal Opportunity- alternate history where denisovans come across Beringia and interact with native fauna. Much of the Pleistocene fauna survives, and the modern humans that end up crossing into North America do not overhunt the existing animals. 10,000 years later, civilizations exist that are on par with European and Asian societies.
The Ditch- Nothing is what if seems..

(Repost; accidentally deleted the old one.)

Last night, I dreamt about some sort of massive, subterranean worm-thing. I don't remember much, aside from the fact that it was made up of multiple identical units/organisms, had a series of bluish discs on its back, and its front vaguely resembled a stylized Samurai mask with a human's upper body protruding from it. It was also benign and intelligent, and it could understand (but not speak) human language.

Well two nights ago I had a strange dream. It involved me and a team going around to several biomes and observing the fauna.Although
I'm not sure if it was a alien planet, alternate earth or future evolution.

The first place we visited was on top of a mountain. The flora was a purple, blue and pinkish color. The biome seemed to
be dominant by "birds".The first creature looked like a bird with a cycloptic face and a toothed beak. The other creature we
saw looked like a weasel with two pairs of wings and birdish looking face. The last creature we saw looked like a huge birds
with 2 long necks and heads and was a predator,it was apparently called the hydra.

The second place me and the team want to was a cave.Although the tripe was very short due to volcanic activity.
The only creature I saw looked like a fuzzy cockroach.

The last place we visited was the moon. All the flora was a metallic blue. All the fauna looked like balls of legs like those found
in echinoderms. They were very friendly. The last part of the dream was us on the moon and we noticed that a huge thing
was right about to hit the planet. The huge object looked like a massive ball of red and black worms stuck together.
Thene off course I woke up.

I had a dream where there were fleshy organisms that propelled themselves by opening up holes on themselves, such as on the sides, or at the bottom, and lived in the oceans.

I've had many odd dreams rich with bizzare animals. One of the most memorable was some sort of large, but cute, muntjac-sized rat that was following me through the neighborhood. It was a chocolate brown color with a thin build and long, skinny legs and a catlike tail. I was tossing it raw chicken drumsticks as I went, for some reason, and it would stand up on its hind legs and hold them in its paws/hands and eat them.

A much weirder one appeared in a dream several years ago. It was night, and stormy, and very creepy when this hideous, black elephant-sized flying animal, with a walrus-like body and a long, snaky, wrinkly neck appeared very high up in the air, gliding silently. It came closer and a bit lower, and I was then able to make out more details - it had a tiny head with an expressionless, mouthless face, and two wide red eyes that just stared at me. It soared on two enormous eagle-like wings, which were like its flippers and flapped very slowly, and never took its eyes off me. I remember it emitted a sound like a tornado siren as it passed, but muffled and more drawn-out. I do recall actually seeing this monster in several different dreams, behaving the same way in all of them, but this one was most vivid. It's really a terrifying thing, if I could better describe it.

Last night, I had a dream. It was pretty muddled up and confusing, but one part of it that I do remember, was a peculiar organism swimming in an aquarium tank.

As I recall it, the creature was flat; almost two dimensional. Perhaps like a rubber or plastic sheet 5 millimeters or so thick. Its front end was roughly oval shaped, and its rear was asymmetric, with two fins; a larger main fin, and a smaller secondary fin on one side. It appeared to propel itself forward by curling up and then rapidly extending these fins, rocking slightly as it swam.

The creature posessed two eyes, one on either side of the front end. Each eye had a black 'pupil' and featureless white sclera or iris around the pupil. These features appeared to be almost painted or printed on to the organism. The rest of the creature was black or deeply dark purple, with lighter purple spots over the body. On one side, the fins were featureless. On the other, it appeared that a pattern, similar to that on the underside of a shoe, was embossed into the organism.

The organism was perhaps 20 cm long from the tip of the front end to the tip of the back fin. There were no other obvious features. The tank it was swimming in had black rear walls, was presumably lit from above by incandescant lights. The bottom of the tank seemed to be covered in a sort of hay or other dead plant matter.

This is where it gets weird though: the tank seemed to be located inside a library, and seemed to contain an octopus and a kind of a squid as well (it wasn't really a squid, but more like an octopus with outstretched tentacles in one direction), though they were sitting at the bottom of the tank while this... thing was swimming around. There didn't seem to be any connection between the two and the... thing felt like it was definitely very alien.

It also felt quite familiar, as if I had seen it earlier and made a note of it. Perhaps it featured earlier in the dream and I simply don't remember, or this was one of those wacky psychological gimmicks.

Spoiler: click to toggle
Perhaps it was a species of Flatfish?

I recently had a dream about this polychate-worm-type animal from the depths of the ocean; it was blue-transparent, about a foot long, and segmented. It was completely flat, but hollow, and it propelled itself by means of oar-like appendages that were very thin, also transparent, but with orange tips, that were attached at the junctions between each segment. It fed on microscopic particles and fed by opening its mouth, allowing the force of the water to inflate its hollow body like a plastic bag opened to the wind. It had no apparent internal organs or external organs.

Last night I had a dream about a computer program, much like Space Engine. You could fly around the universe and look at all sorts of planets, unique, with various attributes (it was either a computer program or some sort of weird astral travelling exercise that one could partake in). Unlike Space Engine, where the procedurally generated landscapes are fairly boring in-situ, this had some kind of voxel-type terrain (in the sense that it was generated with voxels, not in the sense that it looked like Minecraft, though a couple of instances at least might have been actual Minecraft terrain).

Most of the planets were barren; many had life, but nothing macroscopic. Some had complex life, but it wasn't very visually impressive or diverse- maybe a couple of cnidarian things in the water, a few small grass or Cooksonia type things.

A couple of the planets were likely to have more interesting biospheres. I had landed on/teleported to one, and the part of the surface that I was at was a very weird looking jungle. Looking around, I saw a very heavy-set, fat/bulky creature perched in a tree/sitting on a bush.

It ranged between reddish-brown and beige in colour, and was vaguely-rhino like (complete with some kind of head crest/cephalic bosses a bit like Pachyrhinosaurus, and rhino-like skin folds/armor plates, except this armor plating was quite exaggerated and overlapped to a degree).

It was awesome. I need to figure out a way to draw up/sculpt this creature sometime.
A hard mathematical figure provides a sort of enlightenment to one's understanding of an idea that is never matched by mere guesswork.

I once dreamed of a "cat bacteria" that was more Lovecraft horror than biological organism. It's head and body initially seemed like a regular black cat but its body seemed oddly fluid and from where its legs were supposed to be was only oozing stubby tentacles. The thing seemed like bacteria just crawling along, and freaked me the fuck out. It was night during the dream so I could barely see it from the light of a dim lamp post.

Just a few nights ago, I had a dream about a few interesting creatures. I've lately been having these weird visions of bizarre animals just before I fall asleep. The most unusual one I can remember was a thin, green lizard that was built like a stick insect--extremely stiff, long, thin as a pencil, and with stiff short legs, two just below its head and two just at the base of its tail. They could not move, but merely stuck out straight. It lived on the surface of water and apparently had invisible membranes stretched between its legs, across which feathers would flick like cilia to propel it. They were only visible when flicking, and were striped pearl-white and cobalt-blue. The way they moved, they didn't seem to be physically attached to its body, but instead seemed to briefly exist during its propulsion movements.

There was also a blue pliosaur with three orange ridges running from its snout to its tail, but that's not nearly as interesting.

I had this dream of a crayfish or lobster with an oddly shaped pincer that resembled the shell of a mussel. It was flattened and it opened similar to a bivalve shell. There was some odd flesh protruding from it and the rest of the creature was camouflaged.

Another dream had this very Renaissance-esque city with fountains everywhere. And there were werewolves in the fountains playing in the water. It was late afternoon and the water was sparkling. The water seemed to change them into more human-like forms.
