Not my fault... I had a dream about Dilophosaurus before. I was by the shore when it tried to attack me then I woke up. And their was another time when a sarcosuchus tried to attack a family member and I woke up then...... I have twisted dreams. |

I should not necro old threads, but, last night, I had a dream that is probably relevant to this post. I dreamt that there were glowing parasitic worms in my eyes, about as large as my eye itself, and they had to be removed via surgery. Somehow I was not rendered blind from worms eating the insides of my eyes. If I recall, they were some kind of fly larvae so.... yeah. |

Alien oceans are a dangerous place. The poor fat eellike critter tries to swim away, but it's already in the predator's trilateral maw. Somewhat big the prey may be, it's not enough to satisfy the hunger of the vaguely sharklike, many-finned beast. Near the shore a juvenile critter cries. It resembles a weird mix of a small penguin and a seal. How foolish it is, doesn't it know these high-pitched screams will bring it nothing but trouble? Something swims fast towards it. The distressed young senses it and screams on louder and louder. The hungry beast rushes, something else may steal its snack. Almost there, one last stroke, open the mouth to swallow it whole and - splash! - the naive dinner swam into the pleased monstrosity's gape. There's always a bigger fish. |

I once had a dream a few years ago on the first day of high school, there was an enclosure in the back of my school (in my dreams anyway). The enclosure held in question three or seven medium-sized creature resembling african wild asses, but they seemed to have a second snout on the back of its head. Occasionally, a bird (usually a robin or a grackle) would peck on its neck and feed on some worm-like parasites in it. Apparently they were the school mascots. |

Th night before last I had a dream where I was shoveling snow off a dock into a lake. I found a patch of blue ice which I thought was frozen slurppy but it was much tougher than regular ice. I eventually found out that it was a mutagen being dump into the lake on purpose by a mad scientist who's plan was to give the lake a "soul hernia" so the aquatic life would be displaced and attack the town. He got eaten by his own monsters of course but the thing that came out of the lake is the real star of the show. It was colonial with multiple stalked zooids that kind of looked like pirahna plants and were basically a digestive system on an articulated stick but it also had specialized zooids for reproduction, sensory input and processing, photosynthesis ( I think it had symbiotic algae but I'm not sure) and communication. There was also a mobile critter, sort of ovoid with tentacles, lots of legs, and a big frog like mouth which was either symbiotic with the other one or a stage in its life cycle and could communicate with the sessile form giving information and receiving direction at the communication zooids and getting fed from the photosynthetic ones. I'm not sure if this supper organism was sapient but it was scary smart. People called it "The Legacy". Compared to that the gigantic eusocial teraforming spiders from last night are pretty normal. |

Last night, I dreamed that I was a sort of Turtleman-esque wildlife wrangler that had been called in to investigate a woman's house, which she claimed had become haunted while she was away. Inside, the house was a mess; blankets thrown about, furniture smashed, holes in the wall... but not ghosts. Instead, the culprits were a pair of what were apparently supposed to be Bigfoot, but they looked more like Tim Morris' take on Kong, albeit with more orangey-brown fur, somewhat shorter arms, and a stockier frame. They weren't too pleased with my presence, and tried to chase me away via hooting and charging towards me with their teeth bared - I think that they did that on all fours, but the details are fuzzy. Eventually, I managed to lure them out of the house and into a van; Also featuring in the dream was a large, sleek lizard as long as a man's forearm that looked a lot like a leopard gecko, but with longer legs set in a semi-sprawl and hard scales like those of a glass lizard (the specimen I saw in the dream was halfway through regrowing its tail), as well as what appeared to be a terrestrial fruit-eating starfish, royal purple in color and rather 'chubby' - if looked at from above, it looked like a cartoon star, albeit with tiny ridges of small rounded bumps running down the middle of each of its five semi-pyramidal limbs. Apparently, it could also climb, too, because the damn thing was struggling (In a very animated manner) in a net set in a tree some thirty feet off the ground. A while before that, I had a nightmare that a creature that was looked like an Indominus Rex with sharper, more curved claws and some features that resembled those of a hyena - I can't remember how much hyena was in it, just that it had some hyena-like features - was rampaging through my school, chasing after me in particular. It was a bit smaller than the 'real' Indominus, but the thing was still large enough to grab me by the head between two fingers and lift me about four feet off the ground, and strong enough to promptly squeeze hard enough to pop my head like a grape, then let my body fall to the ground. Unfortunately, like the mythical Prometheus, my head regrew, only for the monster to grab me and start the whole damn process over again. Earlier in this dream, I was working at a museum of some sort, going through a darkened, empty series of halls and making plans to build an exhibit based on inaccurate depictions of prehistoric life. I distinctly remember ordering the construction of a Crystal Palace Iguanodon sculpture as well as a small alcove dedicated to David Peters' works. However, before the AMNH-style dioramas within this hall were cleared out, I got to walk through that hall one last time. In it, there were three creatures that I didn't recognize: one, a creature that looked rather like this, but minus the big little finger and with the plumes all on the back instead of the head; second, what appeared to be a rabbit-sized oldschool Ornithosuchus, tail-dragging and all, clad in armor similar in structure to that of a Glyptodon, but in segments so as to allow the animal to move and studded with lines of short, sharp 'studs', with the animal itself apparently being from the Triassic (It was represented by a tiny skeleton; I vaguely remember it being placed in a stereotypical Triassic petrified forest-type environment); and finally, what looked like a Thalassocnus, but with a much bulkier body and shorter limbs. It's also the only one with a diorama that I remember clearly; specifically, it was paddling through the water near the surface of a particularly shallow (As in, app. 12 feet deep) section of kelp forest similar to what you'd see off the coast of Vancouver or Oregon. According to the placard in front of the exhibit, the scene was supposed to represent the coastal waters of California. |

Had a dream last night. Can't remember specifics, some group was stranded in a vast cavern, in which they fought prehistroic monstrosities. There were two "main monstrosities- one, a really big carnivorous sauropod. It was practically unstoppable, not particuarly realistic. Two, some kind of cave-dwelling descendant of a ground sloth, who had gone blind and adapted its claws for hunting. These latter creatures, while there was one big main one picking off the crew, we found others. Namely, I went deeper into the cave, and found a well-lit bathroom. Going deeper and deeper into this seemingly well kept bathroom, it eventually came out into a dark and poorly lit grotto. It was some kind of spawning pool, though I'm not certain how considering it's descended from a ground sloth. Maybe pseudo-marsupial young? ANyway, little "egg sacs" were all over the joint, and eventually it became clear that there was another, smaller but grown cave sloth. It was very fast, and forced me to flee the bathroom grotto. |

I dreamed of an aquatic creature that had rows of hard fins on its ventral and dorsal sides. Me and some friends discovered it on land at a local park. When I tried to pick it up to put it back in the water, it shocked me with electricity flowing through its fins. Well, I guess I shouldn't call them "fins", because they probably wouldn't be used for swimming. They were keratinous or something. Here's a quick drawing: |

The only thing that usually ever comes to mind about dream creatures is some eyeless monster that looks kind of like Sully from Monsters, Inc. I found a two-foot egg in the bathtub with similar markings earlier, so dream logic told me that it must be the same species, if not the same individual that later barged into my bedroom and forced me down its throat before I could react. I was only five at the time, but the fact that I still remember is proof of how scarring that nightmare was. So far, the conclusion my brain has come to is a bipedal, troglobitic, predatory monotreme that hatches completely capable of starting life on its own. It potentially inflates air sacs to increase its size, as I doubt something five to six feet tall can come from a two-foot egg. Another, more recent dream involved what appeared to be a terrestrial dumbo octopus. It was living in a jungle-like environment and about 50 centimeters tall. When it was grabbed and taken at high speed into the air (my brain was running something similar to Tarzan at the moment) it rapidly inflated to about thirty to forty times its original size by means of the mantle taking in air. Other parts of the body also seemed to inflate and grow in size, in the manner that can only exist in dreams. The Tarzan-Jane couple then slowly floated down on the strange beast to have a romantic moment after being chased by slave hunters. I don't often remember my dreams for longer than a few hours, but when I do, it's because they're masterpieces. |

There was one dream I had years ago, most of whose details I forget, but I do remember a rather interesting creature from it. It was probably around four feet high at the shoulder, and had six legs and a long, lizard-like tail. Its head, tail, and middle pair of legs were covered in gray bony armor, and the tail had a row of spikes along each side, which decreased in size the further down the tail they were placed. The head had two gazelle-like horns projecting from the back, and its eyes were glowing blue orbs which appeared to be covered in a hard, transparent substance. There were four eyes on the head and three on the outside of each middle leg, with the middle eye of each set of three being the same size as the ones on the head, while the others were smaller. The rest of the body was covered in short, pure white fur, and they appeared to be pack hunters I also had another dream where my sister and I were trapped in our rooms by creatures whose bodies resembled those of theropod dinosaurs except covered in fur; one was white and the other brown, and their heads looked like those of rams. One attacked me with a sword, so they may have been sapient. |

I used to dream about a world in which humans never existed and where the Earth was dominated by highly complex and sentient nonavian maniraptors instead. Most of their details i have forgotten about, but it was still a interesting creature from it. They were provably the size of a adult human, but they are much more different in color, weight, and diet. One species had longer forelimbs and shorter hindlimbs. It was brownish tan in color and it was covered with fine fur on its back. Its face looks similar to that of Troodon, its possible ancestor. It has a complex digestive system that let it eat anything from grubs to berries. Its tail was long, being about as long as a human's arm. It is a rather solitary creature and it is quite highly specialized. Its feet and hands were prehensile, making the creature suited for climbing trees and moving on wet rocks. Its hands had three fingers but its feet had five toes. I also had another dream back then when highly sentient creatures came back to Earth and then they begin to invade the planet quickly. The creatures whom resemble their ancestor, Troodon, are always wearing biomechanical armoured suits, which were gray and white in color but their limbs are very short and weak. I was being chased by another creature, but this was descended directly from the Troodonts too and it may be non-sentient. |

I recently had a dream where I was on a wooden boardwalk through this weird swamp place. There were penguins that looked like some kind of Spheniscus species swimming around in the muddy water. Also standing on the support poles to the boardwalk there where giant white pelicans and these weird giant cormorants that were taller than me and had white heads and ridiculously long beaks. The boardwalk led into this semi-indoor area and there was a small fenced off area of shallow water and a muddy bank and inside was an animal that was just called a "crocodile" in the dream but looked exactly like a Metriorhynchid, and it was somehow trying to climb up the wooden fence. I don't remember anything else from the dream. |

Back in 2015, I had a dream where I met this strange humanoid woman who had gray skin, darker stripes all across her body, and a long lizard-like tail. She wore very simple attire, limited to a black cloth lined with gold trims. Her hair was a lighter shade of black, and she had purple eyes. As it turns out, this woman was my sister. We clearly were different species, so I assume she was adopted. We stood there in a pure white fog that covered everything except us. I remember talking to her, but I forgot the words she said. However, I do remember her being a very comforting figure to be by. I'm not sure if she was a creature as much of a sort of guardian angel. Even earlier in 2014, I was walking through a strange forest at sunset. The bark of the trees was all black with a few gray and white spots, and the leaves were varying shades of red, ranging from deep crimson to almost orange. I assume I was on an alien planet, but right next to the forest was a park that is located right by my house. In the forest, I was approached by a strange, blue, six-legged creature with the head of a tapejarid pterosaur. It looked at me with its eyeless face without uttering a sound. Above us flew a strange beast that I can only describe as a living carpet, with a body coloured red with orange splotches. Bizarrely, it lacked any discernible head. It was also a hexapod, with its six limbs splayed across a membrane that allowed it to glide silently above our heads like an abhorrent flying squirrel. The tips of its hands terminated in pads and lacked digits at all - instead, small fur-like projections allowed it to climb into the trees. And that's where it ends - I forgot the rest. |

Apologies for double posting, but last night I saw yet another strange creature in my dreams. The creature in question was a four-winged bird, the first thing coming to mind being Changyuraptor, but this creature was actually capable of flight. It was the size of a Bald Eagle, and its body was covered in orange feathers with a yellow speckled pattern, and a beige underbelly. The eyes were yellow with slit, cat-like pupils, and it had a very long tail. It flew by only flapping its forewings, the hindwings were used as rudders and for perching. Although it was called a bird, it was clearly a microraptorian. When I first saw it, I was walking across the playground of my old elementary school on a cloudy day. The bird flew over my head and over to a pole near the parking lot, where it perched. I went inside my school and met my old friend from Grade 8 (I suspect this dream took place in Grade 8, even though I have graduated high school by now). When we went outside, we once again saw the bird, this time on a wire. It hissed at us while striking a defensive posture similar to an owl's, but after a while began to warm up to us. In fact, it later turns out that the bird was actually sapient, and capable of speech. It guided us across the field, but then my friend got hurt and I had to run back to the school to get medical supplies. IIRC, it stood beside me as I helped my friend. |
