Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Are you plausible?

I get plenty of exercise, but I need to watch the quality of my foods and control my portions better. I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs, and I'd like to lose 20 lbs.

I'm 6'2 230 lbs and my diet is called nonstop weight lifting, and wrestling. Depending on how things work this season I could drop to between 195- 220 lbs depending on how my body reacts. Or I'll bulk up to around 250 or 260 lbs, protien supplements and natural whatnots.

Edit: just kidding I'm an inch taller than I thought.

200lb is... 93kg?

I'm 1.88m (6'2") and mass 78kg (172lb). This makes my BMI 22.1, comfortably normal.

Bah, I have no idea about weights. I'll go check for the hell of it. I know I'm 6ft something. I just checked my weights, 12 stone, 75 kg, 168 pounds.

I'm slowly sliding towards being more healthy. I can't go a day without walking for at least 30 minutes (literally, my legs hurt if I don't go for a walk), I've stopped having snacks and am trying to cut down on salt and eat more fruit.

I'm a little heavy for my height, but I'm not terribly overweight. I am a black belt, so I get decent exercise.

I have anemia, so the only changes in my diet is the consumption of more red meat.

I'm 6'0'' and 246 lbs. Chubby, but 70 lbs thinner than I was in high school. Lots of that is muscle mass by the way, I was never like a blimp although I was pretty fat. I do a lot of walking, bike riding, and more recently boxing. I gain weight but lose fat!

I don't really diet, I just drink lots of water and tea. I'm poor so most of my food is pretty healthy anyways, because I can't afford to eat fast food more than like once every few weeks if even that. Not a fan of fast food anyways.
We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.

"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

Why Can't I Hold All These Mongols?

Im underwieght, so im on a reverse diet of putting as much fat on my body as I can.
personally I blame the medication I've been on since I was seven, it depletes the appetite. and yes that is an actual side-effect of ritalin.

I take my diet with the same stride as my Pokemon training. Go for all the good stuff, but do none of the math. So I could be over-eating, I could be under-eating. Hell, I could have a perfect diet.

as most of you are probably aware, I am the "senior citizen" of this forum....

I am approx 110 kilos (~240 pounds) and 6'4". I am probably slightly overweight, but I can fluctuate ~5kgs from week to week. I have hereditary high blood pressure and high cholesterol. My quack (i.e. Doctor, actually she is a VERY attractive lady) reckons I could eat McDonalds 3x a day and it wouldn't make any difference to my cholesterol levels. As it is, I go days without adding any land animal fat to my diet, and eat lots of fish and tuna in olive oil, and have been taking fish oil tablet supplements for 15 years or so.

Being a biker, I do have to maintain that "beergut" pot-belly look to go with the beard etc... only kidding - I don't really have a big floppy biker-beer-gut....

I have had a period of inactivity recently whilst recovering from a right hemicolectomy. This hasn't helped much - I am really out of shape at the moment - I have a 12" reddish scar from the tip of my rib cage down the middle to just above my pubic bone (with a slight twist to go around my navel). I am not supposed to do ANY strenuous exercise until it's fully healed. And - because of my remodelled internal sewerage pipeworks, I am have to avoid leafy veges, fibre, beans, and worst of all my two favourite condiments, CURRY and CHILI!!! I also have to avoid my two favourite beverages, beer and red wine!

10 years ago I was 85 kgs and had a six-pack just from situps and pushups (about 200 each a day). 4 years ago, between jobs in IT, for a few months I helped out a mate who had a brick paving business, I worked for cash (i.e. the "black economy"), shifting palettes of paving bricks across sand thickened up my shoulders and neck muscles, but didn't help my 25 year old back injury much (crashed my 750cc motorcycle doing 35 miles an hour into the side of an early 1960s GM car doing a u-turn in front of me - I actually accelerated into the son-of-a, I thought he was just pulling out so I went to overtake!).

I actually had some chili last night, in a SE Asian rice noodle dish called "Kwai Teow". After spending a considerable amount of time cramping and sitting on the shitter (Aussie for toilet) with extremely painful "flatus"- I won't be having chili EVER again!
