| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. So, I was surfing the internet looking for upcoming movies and I stumbled across this thing: http://www.strangeframe.com/ It looks VERY intriguing, nothing like what i've normally seen in a movie at all, and it's apparently being worked on by a small start-up studio in Hawaii. Does anyone else know about this? |

I don't get it. What's it actually supposed to be about... weird surrealism? Also from the Wikipedia page;
Prominance of mixed-ethnicity people in the future aside, that sounds too much like a... racialist agenda to me. And seriously, what is "of colour" supposed to be? Another poorly constructed euphemism for "non-white"? Just because my ancestors hailed from Europe and I have pale skin doesn't mean I'm monochrome or invisible. |

Colour has been the term for non-white people since the 20s. What the hell were you doing in history class? Sleeping? |

But you do recognize that the term colored folk has been used since "back in the day" yea? The way you phrased it suggests you did not know. |

I don't know, I've always only heard the term "coloured" for black people, sometimes rarely for native americans, but surely not for all the other ethnicies. Unless you include asians, latinos and indians etc. as white people, but these make up such a large portion of the planet that saying "all humans in the future are coloured" is ridiculous. |

I prefer not to think of humans as being "black" or "white" or "yellow" or "red." In my opinion no matter what race you are, you're still the color of dirt. As for this movie, I have no idea what it is or what it's about. But the tag line says "love and sax," and that's good enough for me. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

I'm pinkish beige. Dirt? What kind of dirt? Also, my insides are red. I suppose you get red dirt too. But you also get red stars. Ergo, I'm the colour of a star. |

Any kind of dirt. It ranges in color from dark brown (soil) to Anglo-Saxon tan (sand). I guess in geological terms sand isn't dirt, but whatever. |
